  1. From the VFL website- CASEY DEMONS Goal Kickers: B. Fritsch 4, Y. Zijai 3, B. Kennedy 3, L. Hulett, C. Salem, E. Morris, A. Ferreira, C. Porter, J. Kennedy-Harris, J. Watts Best Players: D. Keilty, B. Kennedy, J. Trengove, C. Salem, B. Stretch, Y. Zijai Was a great day out. I sat next to Sam Frost for half the game in the grandstands, and we had a good chat about him, Dec, and a few of the other boys who were playing (Salem, Kenno, Watts) Was pretty awesome. Keilty is in AFL form, his last 2 months have been sensational. Last week and today were the 2 best game's I've ever seen him play. Being in the business end of the season, I doubt he'll get a debut, but keep an eye on him over preseason, and he might just become a great player for the Melbourne Footy Club.

  2. BTW are you there and saw the act. If not I would temper the posting.

  3. Lingy and co praising Daniher climbing all over the crow defender like a special needs Labrador after kicking that goal. Gimme a fucken break! One day he'll get seriously whacked

  4. Jeez we're quick to hang our own players on here. Salem does things on the field that not many players in our side can do. Importantly he can hit a target. Sounds like he's made a mistake today, but for god sake now he should be traded. unbelievable.

  5. That's his biggest problem now. Keep your eyes on the funeral notices in tomorrow's paper

  6. BASIL: 'wow the Bombers have INJECTED a lot of life into this game' you couldn't script this shite!!!

  7. Keilty absolutely killing it in defence. Up to about 9 marks, most of them contested/intercepts

  8. Thats what I was thinking lol. Apparently since QB Watts is finished and Salem is on the table with Hogan. Demonland at its best.

  9. Great opening term. Watts playing well. Stretch, Kennedy and Trengrove getting plenty. Keilty already up to 4 intercept marks

  10. Oh also the Casey v Williamstown game is televised next week!

  11. Fair enough deever. It's just that I'm a bit sensitive of any criticism of Jones. As far as I'm concerned he's carried this club for years and is beyond reproach.

  12. Lets not even think of that scenario. Essendrug must not make the finals, it can not happen, it should not happen.

  14. Drove past Gosch's this morning at 9.50 am and Jesse was out there with some trainers doing over head marking and marking off the pads( like they do at quarter time home games). Looked ok, no signs of discomfort. Might see him in the last game against the filth.

  15. i'd say 'typical reactionary article by robbo' as opposed to 'good' as mark evans said to him on 360 during the week, "you love your hypotheticals" aka "you love making stuff up and changing direction with the wind as you go along"

  17. I have to admit I am very surprised by all of the Salem talk on this thread, I didn't see him get reported and the incident where Sumner was injured I thought wasn't even a free kick at the time. You don't have replays and I didn't have the best angle but I think he will be fine from my view, just a very solid bump.. On the rest of the game, Casey dominated the contest in the first half over a very poor blues team. I was fairly disappointed with the second half thou, they stopped and limped over the line with the Blues dominating the contested ball. Luckily for Casey the Blues were very wasteful at goal and Declan Kielty was on fire as the final margin should have been a lot closer. Watts didn't do enough from my view, another week in the VFL.

  18. So trade him because he whacked someone? Should trade you to demonology for being a weak fickle 'supporter'

  19. Technically if they lose the next 2 and Werribee win the next 2 by big margins, they could drop to 9th, but Casey percentage is good enough and the next 2 games are at home where they haven't been beaten in over 18 months so they should be right.

  20. Best game I've seen from Keilty, looks like just what Melbourne needs down back.

  22. Sounds like he is a player with his performances this year. There should be a rule like father/son for players in your VFL side that you put a lot of work into.

  25. Does Goodwin get a spell for making us play in the wind with no strategy or DIRECTION. NO plan to attack from the windy side or defend to the dead side. Adelaide people worry me. They are like New Zealanders with slightly better hygiene levels but the chip on the shoulder remains.

  26. Brayshaw - Has played 3 good games in the VFL and is a class above, I have no issues with bringing him in this week. Watts - By dropping him now he at least has a chance to play 1-2 good VFL games and possibly come back in. What would've happened if he played another poor game against the Saints? Dropped to VFL with possibly only 1 game to prove himself? Goody might think Jack needs a kick in the arse to get him going again? Weid - I think this kid has plenty of potential and seems to playing his role in the VFL. Is he ready? I don't know, but I'm damn glad that they've got confidence in him and are giving him a run. Let's be honest too, has to be better then what Watts has given us in the last few games. Maynard - Bit unlucky, but he's had a taste and will be better for it. Guessing this was more of a team balance situation.

  27. It is what it is everyone, happy or unhappy, it doesn't really matter now. It's time to put our game face on and hope the boys take the 4 points in any way possible. They have put themselves in this position and made us miserable at the same time, all we can do is turn up or tune in and cheer them on so they can turn it around.

  28. Gives us a better chance of actually making finals though

  29. That should be just fine for any Demon supporter. Who cares where we play as long as we get in.

  30. Not quite the forgotten man but it seems he has put his year out to good use. Also sounds like he is raring to go next year http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-08-11/vandenberg-sets-his-sights-on-2018 As he is out of contract this year I would not be surprised to see him re-contracted before too long. I'm sure it will be a popular re-signing.

  32. Yeah apparently there are a couple of sore boys so the MFC have decided to hold 2 emergencys. Down back, playing a typical KPD role

  33. Not playing, being held out as an emergency. Salems in big trouble, might be out for the rest of the season on suspension. Keiltys hands have been unbelievable today

  34. His 100th has quietly slipped under the radar. May he have a career best game tomorrow. We need him (and his 21 mates) to bring it home vs the Saints!!

  36. I agree. Such a big call dropping watts. The game will be high intensity tomorrow. We'll need Watts' excellent decision making and perfect ball use. And besides, Watts is an outside player. Why do we all look to him to provide fierce contests? Not his primary job. We should turn the heat on Viney and the midfielders. That's their job. Watts' job is to finish. He'll only ever play as well as the midfield supply. Queen's birthday he was one of our best players? Watts had 5 contested possessions that day. One of the lowest count on the ground. He doesn't crack into a contest. They just gave the ball to him heaps. The winning goal he kicked was him receiving the ball. He didn't crack into the contest and win the ball. He ran into space and received an easy uncontested ball all by himself. Then he used his sublime finishing skills and won us the match. Our coaches need to bloody smarten up. Yes we all love being tough. Coaches want our players tough. But Viney is our tough guy, Watts is our finisher. Big mistake dropping Watts!

  37. Id have kept Maynard , dropped Harmes. Corey had a crack and I thought warranted the avail of stringing at leastva couple of games, god know others have had that opportunity. Harmes has collected a lot of fluffy stats for mine without particularly adding to the cake. I agree with those that think the FD havent always been our highest asset at times. Strange days... strange season.

  38. With Hogan out, I'd say all Goody wants is for Weideman to jump at the ball. As long as he's bringing it to ground, then we're in with a big chance. Hannan really does have a huge role to play on Sunday!

  39. Quote of the night from Taylor (mind you) re Shaw, making a great coach, as "being one of the game's great thinkers and tacticians". Right up there with D Trump's "greatest stupidity" statements.

  40. Neither is Frost but he's playing too, like I said earlier, don't trust the teams that the VFL put out publically, it's always wrong. The team list they handed in tonight would have had both Salem and Frost in.

  41. Exactly, could not give a fig if we played on the bloody moon! We haven't played finals in over a decade and it's crucial to our young list's development that we experience a finals match this year, regardless of where it happens. In fact, isn't our away record just as good as our home record this year? We hold no fears playing interstate yet regularly forget to turn up at home.

  43. We gave 2nd round for Melksham and then Hibberd, and now we're giving it AND Watts for Sicily? Watts is not steak knives because of a few bad games and an untimely omission, a club would take him on the proviso that they could get the best out of him, and his best is elite. Sicily is not elite, this is what we'd offer for someone who is a gamechanger and addresses a serious need. Like Isaac Smith for instance. The Hawks need defenders and would probably want Frost. Sicily for Frost, straight swap as Sicily will assumedly have nominated us. (If Lever fell through) Watts will be selected against Brisbane and Collingwood and will get another opportunity to redeemon himself if we beat the Saints.

  44. Goody just stated on SEN tht Watts was probably in the top 2 or 3 players in the team at that point before getting injured. I Think that's a pretty good answer to all the posters on here calling his season average before the injury.
