How could I possibly doubt a poster named "UncleWithBenefits"? Which, incidentally, is the creepiest username I've ever seen.33 points

I too share lots of info when I have it. There's plenty that I wouldn't dream of posting on here due to the sensitivity, but where its harmless - why not? Whilst I'm not enamoured with GnF's grandstanding delivery and self important air, he has had some good info in the past. Delivered, of course, with a get out of jail card. I'd rather live or die by one sentence. Whatever, if you think this site is better without inside info then I, and I'm sure many others, are happy to leave the dork inner circle to their dreadful puns and really poor dad jokes. One more thing - the trading period is, to use a modern term, fluid. Just because things don't pan out doesn't mean they weren't discussed in great detail. If you're some [censored] with 3 mates who's gets the horn for pointing out mail that doesn't come to fruition, leave it out. No one cares.18 points

Burgan: "What does it mean to you - coming to Melbourne?" Prince: "Everything, and yet nothing. It means more to you. It reminds me of the old Brazilian saying: "if at first glance something is broken, I just fixed it."17 points

I cannot wait for us to announce HL and see the Burginator attempt to interview The Prince on DeeTV. Should be compelling viewing.14 points

It's been a bad day for the MFC, the disappointment and trade setback is significant. I understand that some will take this disappoint out on those who offered hope. This is natural. However, all is not lost. Let's see what Roos pulls out of the hat in the coming days. I note that the same people who have abused me (not that I care) are the same who smashed me for six months when I announced the absolute arrival of Roos in May 2013. Life is too short, we all love our club and yearn success. We are all on the same team. Personally despite my reservations on FA I remain optimistic, the most optimistic I have been since 2006. Let's hope tomorrow is a better day for our great club.13 points

I agree that confidential info shouldn't be posted. However, knocking a bloke for trying to provide some info to fellow DL's, when most read this site to try and get some info, is a bit rich, don't you think. I have seen plenty of crap posted on here on DL and on some threads I have amused my self by posting some as well. However this attack on GNF is unwarranted. I don't care whether everything he posts doesn't eventuate, that could be down to a number of reasons, but at least you have something to read and perhaps get excited about. How could GNF have known that pick 12, which was possibly to be used in other trades, which was to come for JT, would suddenly be off the table, as a result of a too strenuous medical test and subsequent X-Ray? As for his riddles, he is having a bit of fun, so what, it has created plenty of interest and fun for others in playing along. Lighten up.13 points

GNF like everyone else is trying to share what information he thinks he can share, if we go around castigating such posters because what they said does not come to fruition will only result in less people posting. It is a bulletin board and it carries a significant amount of potentially incorrect information. If you want only reliable information then dont use demonland go use google.10 points

I think a lot need to lighten up...Its just Footy....its the silly season, it's all about smoke and mirrors and the fun and games associated with them . It's what makes the Trade period what it is. If the likes of GNF indulge in a little of similar then what harm really. All goes to being part of the game. I for one enjoy the occasional cryptic hint and and appreciative of the like of C-I-P who also offers up tasty morsels for cerebral consumption. No one's forced to read anything hear , nor believe it. Don't shoot the messengers, just be selective of what you ingest. It's not hard.10 points

Sadly, this is precisely the thing you don't want with a navicular, on account of it representing the likelihood of developing 'avascular necrosis' of that bone, meaning death of the bone through lack of blood supply. It's not done just yet, but Jack's playing future is now doubtful. Huge knock for a seemingly very good bloke, whatever the MFC planned for him.10 points

Okay all. The emotion rollercoaster has clearly taken its toll, as this is the most absurd thread I have ever seen, and I'm not kidding. Anyone who signs up a new account to post BS can expect a ban for both that account and their normal one. Give us a bloody break. Toying with fatigued supporters is not funny. I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt as I believe he is truly sharing information he believes to be true, but this thread is done.9 points

New DL rule? Start or substantiate a (high value) trade rumour and if it's: Right - Get on the DL banner Wrong - Get banned and force to donate to DL to rejoin9 points

Okay, I'm pretty comfortable that we're going in to the draft with 2 and 3. Don't have the energy to believe the Kennedy rumour. This trade period has been insane. I'm exhausted.9 points
-
2 AND 3 would be overs for anyone. Knowing the MFC Smith Curse, if he did join us he would probably suffer a career ending injury within a few months.9 points
-
Look, I'm all for a bit of a Barry bash, but to blame him for this happening to Trengove is completely ridiculous.9 points

Would have involved pick 12 (from the Trengrove deal) so now both clubs are working on fair compensation. Sydney want 2 and 3 but Melbourne are pretty set on keeping one of their top picks.8 points

Josh Kennedy is my favourite player and also my future husband (nobody else knows this yes though), but even I think that 2+3 is too much. He is a genuine A grade midfielder and will make us a much better team instantly, but he is 26 and I don't think we'll be in a premiership window while he's at his prime. I'm all for immediate improvement, we desperately need it, but we also need to keep an eye on the future. We can't be throwing it all away for short term mediocrity. We need long term sustained success.8 points
-
If Roos wouldn't give away 2 and 3 for Dangerfield - then they won't go for Kennedy. So maybe pick 3 at tops.8 points

I hope you weren't one of the one's talking about loyalty and all. Keep him on the list and give him the best chance at a career. He's more than earned that.8 points

Of course. This is clearly Bohdan Babicjuk's fault.8 points

This deal better be the catalyst for a mega deal in which we are the beneficiaries of a star. Otherwise, I will not be happy. I'm still a strong believer that Trengove has nowhere near shown what he is capable of and I'll be sick if we see it at the tiges.8 points

The deal will be done by tomorrow 3pm. Some supporters may get a shock for the compensation we will be giving Sydney, but you have to pay overs to get these sorts of deals done. I am told we should be thanking Chris Dawes for the effort he has put in to get Josh across. He and Kennedy are mates from their Sandringham Dragon days. Go Dees!!7 points

The kicker after the anouncement will be, " and in further developments, Sydney has on traded pick 3 to Adelaide for Patrick Dangerfield".7 points

I agree, if true. What I dont get is that we go from woe is us we can't land a big fish to woe is us we pay overs for a big fish. Let me speculate that the deal was 2 and 12 but that fell through, what do we do just give up? Having Kennedy around to help develop Salem, Toumpas and dare i say Watts has to be worth the investment now when you consider picks 2 and 3 will only nett us one of Brayshaw or Petracca (although he will go at 1) and then a speculative forward. It will let Tyson and Jones run abit freer around the ball. I think if true its a great result for the club.7 points
-
As exciting as landing a player of his calibre is, if Brayshaw and Petracca were there at picks two and three and they become bonafide Stars of the comp I'd be sick to the stomach.7 points

Given this has now turned in to a GNF discussion thread, I thought I might weigh in. If you don't want to believe what is said on here, then don't. I don't, but it still makes me think about possible scenarios. Where is the harm in the posts being made? Seriously, I don't know why people are so up in arms about it. Good on ya GNF, think these riddles have been fun. Got a bit much for me for a bit there, so I switched off for a bit. Keep it up!7 points

There is no satisfying some people. This site gets alot of traffic at this time of year to hear news, rumours and innuendo of what is happening. They get the news, don't like it and turn feral as a result. GNF will reveal what he knows as he said. Until then relax. If GNF disappears next year, you will complain that no news is coming thru. Many of us are thankful for the rumours. If you don't like it. Then shut up. Your ruining or running ppl like GNF off this site.7 points

Just read it myself and it really goes to the quality of the kid. To have the Trengove of his 2nd AFL would be marvelous. Im not putting money on ya son, sorry, but truly hope you can overcome your setback and prove many of us wrong.....Id gladly be wrong. All the best, however it goes.6 points
