  4. Put it this way, if there was no chance Mitch was entertaining the idea of coming back, we would have delisted him two days ago along with Burns, Nicholson and Clisby and made it official.

  5. No. No he didn't. He took the award for being the player making the most effort to promote the club in the community, and is keeping it safe, ready for a suitable occasion to shove it up your [censored]. Some people, it's all about them, and their little princess vendettas, all day long.

  8. Tipped him to win it tonight. Absolute star in the making! 21 year old racked 522 disposals kicked 16.6 and laid 70 tackles in just his 3rd year of footy. These stats are better then GAJ, Pendlebury, Hodge, Cotchin, Dustin Martin, Swan, Josh Kennedy in their 3rd years of AFL footy. Impressive

  9. Chip and Geelong are treating the club with contempt. My dislike is assuming Scully like proportions.

  10. Me too. It might be a little bit MFCSSish, but I'm setting my expectations very low to avoid disappointment (so the worst case is nothing, and best case is I'm pleasantly surprised). Even if he does sign up again, I'd think there's some doubt about whether he'll actually be physically or mentally capable of seeing a comeback through. I don't want to rain on others' parades though as others are clearly excited about the possibility of his return, so I'll only say this once and won't keep repeating myself.

  15. Whilst the Roos we see at press conferences and on AFL 360 is a calm reasoned well spoken individual of camera he is a most competitive tough person. Chip may indeed have not liked what the coach had to tell him at his exit interview. Players have told of some of the most withering sprays directed at the group behind closed doors away from the press. I think even Jonesy stated that Roos is amongst the best at delivery a spray. personally I think Frawley deserved it and his bruise free display against the Kangas really annoyed me, would rather we had someone desperate for their football career, playing than one who exited the building a month ago

  16. He's not walking out on the club. He just can't go 12 months without drawing attention to himself.

  17. Absolutley not, JONES will walk next year as a FA and he is one of the important leaders/changers in the new culture

  18. I'll start by saying I think Frawley will leave the club, and is likely to head to Geelong. But all the comments that he has been a dog to the club, and showing poor leadership etc, I thing goes a bit far and none of us really have any clue whether its true or not. Other than a tongue in cheek comment about if Roos signs, then he will earlier in the year, I think evidence that Frawley has done something wrong to the club and it's supporters is all based on speculation and rumours. In this climate we have with free agency it's just the way things are. Rumours have come out, about him naming a price, but that is likely to be player manager comments rather than the player himself. Compared to the circus that happened with Cloke which played its way out in the media, Frawley has not sought to play it out this way. Roos has said consistently through the year that he has no issues with Frawley's approach through the week and in games, and I'll take his word on that. I think us as supporters and the media themselves actually create a situation where if Frawley doesn't leave the club now, people will be pi$$ed at him for holding out so long, and cos our season has been poor again, rather than recognising that we have a good player (not great) with a strong mature body who could help the list develop, we yet again turn our eye to the draft drooling over the compensation that beckons. I confess that I have often thought that getting pick 3 for Frawley would be better than him staying, but the draft hasn't been kind to us in the past, and I only think that it is going to benefit us if we trade for another midfield option that can produce results like Tyson, but whether we can pull that off again is yet to be seen. It royally sucks that our club is so damn uncompetitive, and as such these situations come from it, but he is entitled to test the market. There is a difference between a supporter of a club who's loyalty is unconditional, and being a professional sportsman. Ask any delisted player and see the answer you receive

  19. I don't blame him for wanting to leave, he's talented and he's never played in a final and realistically may not play in one until he's 30, and lets not mention his chances of winning a flag with us. By going to a successful club he knows his chances of fulfilling the ultimate dream of a premiership is realistic. So honestly, who can blame him. What I do blame him for, is his pathetic leadership, stringing the club along and acting like a complete damn princess. Don't be a total f'wit to the club that has paid you handsomly and given you ample opportunities over the year. We may not be successful, but we have never done anything but be kind and supportive of your career. 3 coaches have all backed you, as have the supporters and the administration. To now behave like a child who just can't make up his mind, all the while not putting in any effort on the field and holding us to ransom, is just not on.

  20. I'm now at the point where I want Frawley to leave, throughout the year I've gone from wanting him to stay to not caring. I would now be disappointed if he stayed. To me, Frawley epotomizes all that is and has been wrong with the playing group. His attitude and body language, especially in the last 4-6 weeks was a disgrace. See you later.

  21. My favourite award. Six of them this year. #2 Nathan Jones continued his trajectory of steady improvement and has developed in to an absolute class player. Not to mention indestructable - he's missed one game in the last five seasons. Incredible effort. #4 Jack Watts cops heaps of criticism from fans and the media alike, but I doubt anyone would argue against the notion that he's close to our most reliable user of the ball, especially by foot. Personally, whenever he had the ball, I have complete faith that it won't go to waste. Roos' repeated public defence of Watts in conjunction with not missing a game makes me think the coach just does not share the view of the average member of the public on Watts.. #12 Dom Tyson has been a revelation. Bull of a midfielder who can go forward and kick goals. Like Vince, was crucial to the improvement of our midfield this year. It's bloody scary to think what we'd have looked like without these two. Man crush. #14 Lynden Dunn had easily the best season of his career. Looked very settled in the back line and seems to have eradicated the silly business from his game, turning in to a reliable defender. He has proven difficult to beat one-on-one, uses the ball well out of the backline, and has developed leadership skills. For me it was a surprising and very pleasing change of fortunes. #23 Bernie Vince added a touch of class which was much needed to our side. Personally I don't think he's reached the heights he did at Adelaide or for us during the preseason, but his recruitment has been vital to improving our side. Very pleased with this astute piece of trading. #38 Jeremy Howe used his marking prowess to good effect in the back line. Strugged early in the year - particularly in the forward line - but looked pretty decent in the latter half of the year I thought, having adjusted to defence and trusting his marking skills down there. He's a very good judge of play and has the best hands I've ever seen. Roos has said he expects Howe to find his way back in to the forward line - it'll be interesting to see whether that happens next year or takes longer than that. I expect all six of these players to feature heavily in this year's B&F along with Ro Bail and Tom McDonald who played 21 of the 22 games. Well done lads.

  22. Dom certainly came home with a wet sail and made a contest of the Bluey. An outstanding year for a youngster with no decent pre season. Nathan now in elite company with the great Jimmy Stynes. Well deserved Jonesy.

  38. blah blah - footy is a business now - its ok to trwat the fans and their emotional connection with contempt. Players dont have to show loyalty and blah blah its stupid to expect it. Like the nfl where there is no point having favourite players when their rosters change so much... well im not a fan. If you want loyal supporters who pay their membership because of an emotional attachment rather than a business transaction then you cant expect those supporters not to get angry when you cut and run for coin and individual glory. And i want him gone.

  44. Nathan Jones was voted Demonland Player of the Year for the third year in a row and must go into tonight's Bluey as firm favourite to repeat that effort.
