Brad Miller To Swans

I rate him as one of the best at the club............in looks and an amazing body too. Does that count for anything? Probably not given that 98% of you are blokes. Come on Jaded, Demon Deb, anyone else

Ok I will take the bait. Brad is definitely a hottie and would be sadly missed from this point of view. He is also a nice guy and good with the fans.

Alas this does not win us games and that's what we need to do to get back to being taken seriously.

Buchanan would be quite handy in our side. He is quick and quite smart in front of goal. We have been victims of his ability to burst through the centre and pop a goal through before we even knew what happened. I would quite like to turn the tables and have that work for us.

To lose TJ as well would be sad and I can see Bailey having a positive effect on our champ.

I would trade Miller for a 4th rounder

I can not go through another year of him taking a mark on the wing then playing on without even thinking and either handballing it to a teammate surrounded by three opposition players, or turning it over with his atrocious handball skills

Or after looking around for 25 seconds for someone/anyone to handball it to, he decides to kick it instead and manages to advance the ball 23 metres upfield with his mad kicking skills

Totally agree with that statement. The 3 worst things about going to the footy are mid-strength beer, bad umpires and watching Brad Miller whenever he gets near the ball.

Never......

I guess that is the difference between a few of us around here, because as long as he is still in Demon colours I will never give up on him. Ever.

You can come back and call me silly or that my attitude will be a fruitless exercise if you like, but that is exactly where I stand.

Right behind all our boys. And I will only stop being concerned about and hoping for Miller (or any other player on our list) when the club tells me to.

And not a moment before.

I'm with you 100%.

I think toooooo many idiots get on here and belittle our players.

Same idiots that get on the radio and come up with all these no sense no idea trades.

When you trade ... you trade to improve your position NOT just to be seen to be doing something.

QeenC I'm with you.

Cheers Hangon......

Hopefully it will be nice out here on this limb ;) !!!

And just on Buchanan I honestly cannot see him leaving the Swans., and would be very surprised if he did.......

He has reportedly just bought a new property up here, and has gone into a fashion business with Jude Bolton.

I am not sure those are the actions of a man looking to relocate south.

The Swans have been aching for a player to fill the void that Aaron Rogers left some years ago.

Ouch.

Anyhow, it seems as though Miller may not be traded. After discussing TJ and Carroll's trade chances, a Herald Sun writer said this:

Despite speculation he could be on the move, Brad Miller is a lot less likely to be traded by the end of the week.

The Swans have made their intentions on Miller clear, but it would have to be a very juicy offer to entice the Demons.

"Dean Bailey's very keen on Brad," Connolly said.

And this from the Adelaide Advertiser:

"Sydney - as a first move - is offering a third-round draft pick for Mattner, who reportedly has been tempted by a three-year contract from the Swans.

But Adelaide - after dismissing former South Adelaide ruckman Stephen Doyle, 26 - wants at least a second-round draft pick.

The Swans are reserving this for out-of-contract Melbourne key position player Brad Miller."

I think most people would be happy with Sydney's second rounder (pick 28).

Keep in mind this is an attitude, not a gaurantee that anyone is staying. He's also keen on Trapper pulling his finger out whilst at the same time putting him up for trade.

All i see at the moment is Bailey 'keen' on building up good younger stocks whilst weeding out those that arent shining to the desired lux !!

Gone. They swapped their second pick for Mattner. Unless they trade back into the second round or find a suitable swap a Miller deal with Swans is off.

From my sister:

"We can't trade Brad Miller! He's so hot!"

Well, I'm convinced. Keep Brad!

You wrote out almost the exact words of my girlfriend.

"You guys cant trade Miller! He's hot, one of the reasons im even considering the Demons (to be her new club)"

Unless of course, the deal is TJ + Miller (and maybe our 2nd rounder) for pick 11 + Buchanan/Schneider

I've said it before and I will say it again I can't see Buchanan leaving Sydney.....

He seems to have too much invested both financially and personally up here

He has just bought a new property and opened a new business (with a store in Paddington, I think) with a team mate in Jude Bolton.

I just don't see anyone leaving a city when there is so much at stake. To me these are not the actions of a man looking to relocate.

But that is just my opinion :) !!!

I reckon 99 footballers out of 100 would move states if it were necessary to further their career though, regardless of what is at stake. He might not think he has much of a choice. It's why you almost never hear of players refusing to be traded, even though they have the option and might not really want to go.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
