GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon

Reality check. We have been drinking our own bathwater. How can your work rate and intensity be so different between weeks. All in their heads. What a disgrace.

Equal last, 17-loss streak, 62.7%, currently now pantsing us.

This undoes so much of our hard work this year, and it's just one game, but gee this is why we can't trust the team, and why we still don't draw big crowds. Unlike the hawks, cats etc, you just don't know who you're going to get.

Another jumper hold on Gawn in the ruck. But no call. Blind [censored]

AFL was never letting the Bombers all time losing streak to occur

We are a better side than Essendon, we lost this above the shoulders today.

Still bottom 4 side.

This is disgrace

Undoes anything that we've done in 1stv4 weeks

Nah, this was always a chance to happen. Dons picked up the intensity last week against the Dogs, got some belief, trying to not lose a record amount of games.

I thought we would win but this doesn’t completely shock me.

Super disappointed in their efforts today.

No care with the ball at all.

Terrible turnovers and they wanted it much more.

Spot on. This club historically has a knack of doing the most dumbest and embarrassing things.

How we dropped 2 games to Carlton in ‘06 when they were genuinely wooden spoon [censored] which cost us top 4 still sh*ts me to this day.

It’s little wonder why clubs and the wider AFL do not fear or respect us.

40+ pt belting. Unforgivable.

Give a side a sniff that’s lost its last 17 and you pay the price. Dees look utterly lost now. up by 20 near the end of the second and now down by 40. 11 out of the last 12 goals!

Gotta be some big questions asked

Some of the most unaccountable footy I’ve seen since Neeld days. Windsor needs to learn to defend a man

This is a pathetic game.. absolute pathetic. This is how you undo 4 weeks of good work. Absolutely pathetic. Windsor and Culley have been atrocious. Melksham and McDonald look shot. Absolutely disgusting.

@binman

King mistake 1

5 tall forwards. Fritsch. Milkshake. Petty. JVR. Mihocek. No crumbers. No pressure. No pace. No tackles in fwd50

King mistake 2.

Archie Roberts. Quarterback. 35 possessions each week. We refused to shut him form. Poor planning.

We’re still mentally weak, clear as day.

The most 2024 and 2025 performance I’ve seen.

No fight and no clue.

Absolutely miserable performance.

Utterly embarrassing

Agree the future are youngsters

Turning this off, poor.

Just about as disappointed I have been in this team in a long time, probably more so because we started a new chapter and looked to have a new mindset. Losing is fine. Losing like this, to them, is not fine.

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
