In an ominous omen for the Suns, their website says their next match isn't for 17 days...against the Dons!

Could they be metaphorical and or literal no shows this week ?

People keep saying Rowell is out but he's actually a test for this week and is a chance of returning.

Melksham for Cross would be a good replacement. Cross only played 61% of game time and I think Melky would benefit from low game time and hopefully high impact.

Kentfield available. Does he slot straight in? Might need a week in the VFL first but would love to see him in the Seniors asap.

Turner a ‘test’. Hopefully he gets up.

Considering he got 13 clearance (9 centre clearances) against us last time at the G we're stuffed if he's back.

Just a few changes Werridee

B: Lever, McDonald, Salem

HB: Tholstrup, Turner, Howes

C: Langford, Sparrow, Windsor

HF: Chandler, van Rooyen, Culley

F: Fritsch, Mihocek, Heath

FOLL: Gawn, Steele, K.Pickett

IC: Lindsay, Langdon, Sharp, Petty, Moniz-Wakefield

EMERG: , L.Pickett, Kentfield prefer both to play limited time at Casey

Petty the ultimate emergency can pinch hit for Turner if he is short of a run or can cut out for max in the ruck and JVR who must be played fulltime forward and Heath who may need exposure to AFL..

Mw can replace Tholstrup if he is needed to tag or cut out Salem

Heath played well at Casey last match and can provide support for Max and an xtra tall to create space

Latrell is exciting but I reckon can have run at Casey to build up his presence not just impact. Use his pace at that level to cut them apart and force his way into the team against Essendon.

Rivers may need an extra week recovery same as Kentfield

We do need to see how player perform at Casey Jefferson and Kentfield l

Wait a minute… why are you on the GCS website? 🧐

Petty is on a hiding to nothing, bloke has a go, great set of hands and brave as, far too many ready to sink the slipper in for my money. He plays a super tough position that magnifies any mistake, and he never drops his head even if he gets it wrong, he’s not perfect but he’s the best heavyweight defender we have.

I like to remain hopeful and anything can happen on the day but I’ll be content if we put on a good contest and don’t get blown out the water. Good coast are right in the window and our boys are still building to it.

Cross and CJ out,

Heath in (<20 minutes ruck, just the chop out minutes, plus f50 throw ins) and rivers in (amw if riv ain’t ready)

I think a pack splitting heath will give trelle chandler kos and fritta some better roving opportunities. Would love to see more scoreboard impact from that avenue. Heath at seniors level would also give Johnson and kentfield some Casey ruck minutes so if they can prove to be forward weapons and competent as ruck relief then that’s the spot for the taking.

Was just about to post that with their big 3 out and us possible getting a couple of injured players back we might be a sneaky chance.

Not so much now.

Are they fearless or clueless?

If they don't get in each others way, I'd love to see how JVR, Mihochek, Fritta and Melksham work together in a forward line; with a bit of Pickett^2 magic and a cheeky Chandler cameo thrown in.

Salem’s defensive hardness has never been his one- wood. It’s just a little more exposed for the lack of small backs that we have currently.

His field kicking, kick ins, defensive positioning and transition work outweigh the odd poor defensive effort.

He is just so slow and has no acceleration. Our defence is now pushing up hard to contribute on offence, when it goes wrong, and the ball goes out the back - Salem is never catching his man.

I think our best mix has Riv and Bowey/AMW replacing Salem and CJ. Even Kolt is showing some good signs off HB. But there is certainly room for him our 23 while Bowey is out.

This thread seems to be very footy focused. I wonder what outfits the players will wear to the game this week 🤣

I've seen a copy of the invitation sent to the players. Loungewear or smart casual. No jeans. No address given. RSVP not required.

Kentfield was going to debut before he hurt his knee. Can't see why he can't debut now. A month is not a long time out. Petty has been out of form.

Yeah agree Petty has been out of form which is why I think he gets last chance as burst impact replacement, a role which he needs to be coached positively to do.

As i said in other post Im just a bit concerned that Lukar had a significant injury which might affect his confidence and impact which I would like to see built and evidenced in the lower level.

Both these thoughts are deeper coaching and development matters which I really will leave to the coach who is closer to the players.

I'm as big a Salem defender as there is, but I can't deny this. It's completely true.

The Demons are back at the MCG for the second week in a row. They face the Suns off a 15 day break without their prized recruit and former Demon champion Christian Petracca. This will be a massive test for the Demons who will be facing a genuine Premiership contender. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
