Just read through the tears. Honestly felt like I was reading DL in 2024-25.

Shout out to Paddy Cross, that small fella was bringing every single high ball to the ground over Dean and Weiters in that final qtr. Great last qtr by him. It’s the little things that contribute without seeming like big moments. They always count!

I spoke to a mate at half time who was near where Langford kicked our first…the thing that unnerved him was how genuinely excited and “in” to the game we were. He felt there was a genuine sense of belief.

That was even more fun than the St Kilda game.

Bravo Kozzie, Tholstrup and Lever and many others.

Reminiscent of the comeback against Freo when Austin Wonaeamirri announced his presence

Flash Davey was on fire that game as well!

One goal to half time then 14 in the second half. WOW What a turnaround.

Need to seriously fix our first quarters though.

Its going to be a long season - why wear ourselves out unnecessarily turning up for 4 quarters when we only need one half to beat them?

After the first quarter where we were rabbleish response was phenomenal. Up there with the really great wins

Right there with you Picket. I was ropeable at 1/4 time. I thought King was overwhelmed at times during the first half, but his move to start Pickett on the bench in the second half shows he knows what he is doing & is up there with Danners benching Wiz against the filth in 2000 before letting him loose to kick 9 in the second half of that game.

We just need to keep the faith a little bit. For better or worse Clarrie is gone, Trac decided to leave, and Goodwin would’ve gone in to disaster mitigation mode. It’s time to embrace the change and move forward.

I wonder every week do people ever look back with embarrassment on their posts

Is there a link to the Carlton forum? 🍿

I just had a look, often enjoying the schadenfreude. But it’s bleak over there. Not fun at all. Think: Dees fans in the middle of our worst years, then add a pinch of Samuel Beckett’s Endgame, and the final scene of Hamlet.

I thought Culley was pretty handy (and different) in the middle too. Causes a bit of havoc in there

Won a crucial contest in the last quarter coming off the wing which resulted in a goal.

Was super today

Interesting.

King mentioned in his postgame presser that Rivers was dropped for team balance, because he hasn’t been at his best, and also because of something he’s been dealing with physically that he said didn’t want to get into.

Had heard from inside the club it was for not meeting certain standards on field last week, not sure why he was singled out as he couldn’t have been the only one

Roundabout way of telling him to get a haircut.

"And shave those sideburns!"

Already hit van Rooyen, Petty and Chandler. How Sharp continues to get a game under the same coach is a mystery.

When did we last have such a massive turnaround?

Honestly can’t recall

*cough aside from the GF 2021

Geelong same year last rd

Brisbane in Sydney same year

Great to c TMac back and Lever getting back to his best.

Funni some comments in the game day thread can’t remember who said something like the coach has turned the defence into a rabble and it’s rubbish.

Looked ok when the midfield stepped up.

Steven king on SEN tomorrow morning after our amazing win today. I won’t be able to post his part until later tomorrow afternoon but you’ll be able to find it on SEN app 😊

Really impressed with the change in the centre bounce/throw in approach to spread the ball away from inside contest (with the knock outs and tap ons) as quickly as possible after quarter time. Wonder if Chunk was responsible for that?

Was playing golf at Byron with 2 Saints supporters and a Cats supporter

As if my 3 putt par on the 6th wasn’t bad enough (Eagle attempt from a mere 15m) checking the scores compounded the discordant day

Finished and have a beer on the deck

But what’s this? A Dees supporter streaming the game to phone on the deck

Check the scores

Oh my!

Crazy days

Great to see the big names step up.

Sharp looks a different player this season too. Really handy player at the moment.

Big fan of Culley. Not getting huge numbers but looks steady in every contest.

Aside from that, what a bloody win. What a great day. Go Dees.

That was almost as enjoyable as the win itself

I was there.

At half time was thinking of booking holidays for September.

Still not sure what happened or rather how it happened.

My dislike for Carlton extends back to the sixties and their cockey supporters.

My three favourite live Melbourne games are

Melbourne  def Carlton, Preliminary Final 1988 VFL Park

Melbourne def Carlton, MCG Final 1994 - Schwarz game

Melbourne def Carlton, MCG Final 2000 - Green, Bruce, Yze

2021 was televised.

Listened today on ABC at home in SE ASIA.

I am scarred with memories of foot stomping fans cheering another Bosustow/Hunter/Maylin comeback in the Robert Heatley Stand.

The self confessed brown paperbag cheating scum.

1995 flag should be annulled.

Today should reinforce King’s team that no matter how far behind, they can still win.  Let this parallel Max’s breakout 2015 game at Geelong

Confidence and belief two best recruits in the rebuild.
