NON-MFC: Round 01

Featured Replies

thursday and friday look like total fizzers.

The only interest in Thursday is if the tigers can get a win and push the blues to further implode and be in crisis after 2 games.

Hawks will destroy the bombres .Port v North and Suns v eagles stinkers in there as well

for a league that fixes the fixture round one is a bit meh!

i'm hoping richmond beat carlton because its great entertainment seeing the blues fans lose their minds

$5 multi will get you $785.21 with those 9.

Random point, but the club emblems seem strange this year.

MFC navy and white with no red

Saints with no black. looks like the swans from a distance

Crows navy and white also

i’m not a fan personally

Saturday is a cracking day of footy

1:15pm until 10:30pm non stop sitting on my [censored]

Barracking hard for the tiges

Dan 'rat' Gorringe has signed a waiver saying if the blues lose, he will never go to a carlton game again. Honestly a win situation tbh

I watched Vossy live as a player lots in Brissie during the lions golden era.

I've got a real soft spot for him. Such a brave courageous player

So I hope the blues get pounded and he's let go sooner than later. I don't think he's got any hope of turning things around.

I thought he would have made a great coach, but he really hasn't delivered.

I've got a softer spot for Yze anyway.

Go Tiges

The Pies could get rolled too

There's four "big" games so it's not too bad IMO

Dogs v Giants

Cats v Freo

Swans v Lions

Pies v Crows

No game in WA and a fizzer in SA is a potential black mark though

On that basis, I hope they appoint him coach for life. Screw Carlton and the horse they rode in on.

Gold Coast are given a 92% chance to best West Coast in that squiggle system.

That is pretty good progress for the Eagles when you consider they are 11 wins from 91 games across all opponents.

Interesting to see Squiggle just slightly favouring Collingwood over Adelaide and North over Port.

Wow, Melb v St Kilda is match of the day on Sunday.

So don’t get the swiggle predictor

surely us and the Lions are not favourites?

Lions with 5 of the biggest outs ever

Swans will belt them

For some reason I reckon North V Port might be a decent game. Probably close.

Agree with the Suns V Eagles game. Will likely be one of the worst one sided games of the year.

The only squiggle I ever got was Mr Squiggle and even that was a worry sometimes.

Voss kaboom.

Carlton’s list is poor

I reckon the Tigers will give them a shake tonight

If carlton lose tonight, look out.

Hope Adelaide can somehow win.

It's the first time Horne Francis will face nth in Melbourne since he left.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

When the Demons blew their 46-point lead at Marvel Stadium in Round 20 last year, the fallout was enormous. Like an event straight out of a Shakespearean tragedy, Melbourne’s final-quarter collapse left fans reeling and the club grappling with the aftermath.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
