I just had a look at the injury list and am a little frightened by who is available to play:

Howes Lever Petty

Lindsey Turner McDonald

Langford Steele Windsor

Culley Picket (L) Kozi

JVR Mihocek Fritsch

Gawn Langdon Sparrow

Tholstrup Chandler Sharp ???

A few of these guys are lucky to get a game (which is part of footy), and a few a still developing and need game time...but it is a bit of a worry

Did not age well

Bowey is going to LOVE our new system

Something more going on with Harry Petty. If it was concussion they would just say so.

Hope he is ok.

Just gathering more information

Concussion is complex, especially delayed concussion.

Join you in wishing him well

Melbourne GM of AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson also spoke on Harrison Petty's situation.

"Harrison left the field during the third quarter of our clash with the Lions,” Richardson said.

"We’re currently gathering further information and once it comes to hand, we will provide an update."

Shane McAdam (Achilles), Tom Campbell (neck) and Jack Viney (Achilles) all continue to work through their respective rehab programs.

Was it Leigh Montagna (or one of the other hosts) in one of those analysis shows remarking to his co-host (I forget they're all the same)... That Petty happened to go off after his second howler of a kick.

Seemed to be fishing for a reaction that didn't arrive, then just moved on

It's really odd to leave him off the list

So in addition -

Aidan Johnson — TBC / TBC

Harrison Petty — TBC / TBC

What's up with AJ now?

Shane Mcadam has gone from 2-3 weeks to TBC.

was exactly what i saw first too, he and TC should be encouraged to do the team thing, theres not many teams with MSD picks at this stage,

eagles via dev rob, port x2 dogs via darcy, saints carried over we could have picks 4 and 6/7 which gives us heaps of options,

AJ not listed as TBC. Moved well rehabbing before the flush run today. Let's see if he trains fully tomorrow. Casey for Saturday hopefully.

Riley Beveridge and Cal Twomey on Gettable now confirming that Tom Campbell is now considering retirement and a decision could be made in the coming weeks.

Thats really sad if true but understandable, being in a neck brace for that long it must have been a really scary injury.

I hope he stays around the club as he’s an awesome bloke and great mentor for our boys. Our VFL program especially will be significantly worse for it, TC was huge last year and I think we saw what will happen without a big powerful ruck at VFL level last weekend. All the best to TC and his family.

What is the go with Trent Rivers? How has this turned into an 7-8 week injury, and why so much hush hush. Bloke played State of Origin and then seemingly was out of favour, now has a mystery knee injury

state of origin has proved to be a blow across the competition - sam taylor from gw$ will have missed half a season by the time he's considered fit to return, matt rowell's hand / finger injury is clearly significant, weitering's ribs clearly copped a significant knock, ah chee pulled up short, and others besides have clearly had issues as a result of the high intensity of the game

Of all the things we’ve done right so far this year, what the [censored] is going on with our injury list?

McAdam’s perennially on it but this week reverted from 2-3 weeks to TBC without explanation.

5 days after the game Petty’s injury, let alone prognosis, is TBC.

Rivers was dropped, never appears on the injury list, but is injured and is now about to miss his 5th straight game.

Is Lindsay injured? Is AJ?

Viney’s been “TBC” for months. At what point does “TBC” actually mean “indefinite” or “season”?

This sort of stuff is already on the nose but is going to age incredibly badly - and very soon.

This might be the pre cursor to another retirement, along with Tom Campbell.

@Greg Schneider McAdam. Retirement looming … unfortunately his body is not able to support the rigors of AFL footy. Could the Dees put him on the long term injury list ahead of the mid year draft ?

Sadly this is starting to look like our worst trade this century. Even worse than Ben Kennedy for Jeremy Howe.

And some genius thought it was a good idea to have him play a VFL scratch match during the gather round weekend.

Mentioned Achilles as the injury too, previous weeks it had been calf. Some transparency for supporters would be appreciated.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
