Thats curtains

We could still in theory invite some potentials to train on and then consider them for ssp?

Leaving our last two spots for our Rookies.😁

That was underwhelming…

Yep. An hour of my life I won't get back...

Says a lot that teams are passing with players like Greeves and HH on board

I would have taken the swing at that point but I’m sure we have our reasons

Greeves doesn’t work well at clubs that have an enforced no DH policy.

Greeves especially looks too good not to take a punt on, must be some significant concerns (beyond fitness or speed) on him

I understand we all (rightfully) have a wealth of respect for JT and his judgement. And that I’m just a passionate but novice observer. I cannot figure out why we wouldn’t at least have a crack at a midfielder in this draft though after the players we lost in the trade period. NHH, Greeves, Onley, anybody. Please.

Just wondering that we have more experienced players in mind for the midfield rotation. Not many first year picks are ready to play midfield.

Could be a good strategy we have chosen in this draft?

Hope our midfield doesnt take a hit injury wise..

It is curious we didn’t take a single midfielder

I know we’ve got two first rounders next year we could potentially use on them, but we must have a lot of faith in our current group (or at least want to see who is likely to make it after King’s first year)

Keeping room for that big trade.

I wonder whether it's due to the minimum contract length of 2 years for national draftees, vs min 1 year for rookie list. If they believe the drafts not strong, might be better to take a punt via rookie list as not tying up a spot for 2 years?

The players we got will free up Kozzie, Lindsay, Windsor etc for mid time so not really missing mids. Just promoting a few to more mid time.

Yes, and with Steele’s recruitment it’s really only a net loss of one mid.

2 small forwards and a medium interceptions defender. This year's picks boggle the mind. We must have extreme faith in our tall forward mix in Kentfield, JVR and Jeffo putting it together over the next couple of years as well as whats left of our midfield.

i think we all misread exactly why we were ok to let Clarry and Trac leave, it was to change our midfield mix, so it makes perfect sense we havent topped up on the inside

Viney, Steele, Langford, Rivers with Langdon capable of pinch-hitting

KPickett, Windsor as genuine class with Salem capable

Tholstrup, Chandler, Sparrow, Culley ?? all looking for time up the ground either pinch hitting or coming off a wing

it's not like we don't have options

and we've been crying out for a small forward for years, hopefully we're onto two winners and we can focus elsewhere again next year

Only boggles the mind if you take a superficial view

Add Johnson to your KPFs, Mihocek will be there for your couple of years, and we have White arriving. Not sure how many key forwards you think we should have?

For the rest, we need small forwards, though adding them also frees up Kozzie for more on ball time, just as adding defenders frees up the likes of Rivers, Windsor and Lindsay to play more mid.
