Good news everyone! Clarry looks kind of frumpy in the bright orange GWS training bib!

Definitely warrants poking this thread along. ;)

I do appreciate the glorious grammatical clanger in the fantasy write-up section related to him; "...last two years at Melbourne weren't been memorable ones".

The article did make me look at his recent fantasy form, and for all that it is meaningless, it does interest me that in 2025 he had only two individual games which came within 20% of his average fantasy/supercoach output for 2020-23. He's dropped from top-3 fantasy midfielder to the fringe of the top 50.

Giants' Fantasy preview: Must-have defender, keep an eye...

There are plenty of GWS players to consider as part of your 2026 Fantasy team

As much as I love Clarry (and try not to post on this thread—hopefully it dies a natural death soon)—orange is definitely not the colour for a ginger. Do appreciate the fact that his sunscreen is rubbed in well, though.

Looking forward to the I told you so from both games after every game depending on how he plays.

Let’s lock this and revisit (if absolutely needed) after the Giants season is done and dusted for 2026

Don't take this the wrong way as you do have some good input on this site but I'm undecided on whether you're actually a good poster. You seem to be more in the know than the regular person but sometimes it seems like your ability to write well and throw alleged facts in that no-one will bother to check leads people to believe you know more than you actually do about a subject.

A few things with this comment

1 What makes a good poster?

2 Will we EVER know the facts of Kings meeting with Clarry and contract negotiations, perambulations?

What happened to the edit post function, has it been moved?

I think you only have a limited time after making the post to edit it.

It still hurts to see him in those colours. It will always hurt to see him in any colours other than red and blue 😕

Clary was always a risk as his attitude before the draft was not the best but he was working on it. I think it all went to his head and then whatever issues he was having popped that bubble and he will never be the same player we all came to admire so much. There may be glimpses but no where near the extent of what we enjoyed.

I have a different view ... if he does well at GWS, it will reinforce the notion that he needed a fresh start

Brownlow votes can divide opinions but there's no doubt that the umpires absolutely notice the standout players (as do the fans & media)

Here's Clarrie's last 6 years

  • 2020 - 14*

  • 2021 - 31

  • 2022 - 25

  • 2023 - 6

  • 2024 - 5

  • 2025 - 0

*2020 was a shortened season

Maybe Oliver & Trac topics should be permanently closed, the oxygen they have received, understandably they will be forever premiershiP heroes and the action of both themselves & the club turned pair shape ..

Who misses just a fortnight with a strained calf?

If its just tightness and not a tear then maybe. But if he pings it by only taking a few weeks off and coming back early, it could be a 6 weeker.

But then again not all calves are equal....

I have not been able to sleep since Oliver's departure . We are doomed !!! Not worried if Gates wants to blacken out the Sun (thank god for green energy derived from solar panels).

I tried listening to songs like I will Survive,Yesterday, I am a Believer but still I am depressed. Is there an AFL life line I could ring? My dad said, suck it up princess.

Yes, take a look at Lachie Neale's.

Yes, but this kind of free speech I approve of. Just the same if people still want to engage with the funny videos or music suggestions threads it's not for you or me to decide they can't.

Two weeks of training? If we were in the season it would probably be 4 weeks but back training sooner.

He missed half a season with a hammy...............

Why would you want to close the threads? Just stop opening them if you don't want to engage with them, that's what I do when I saw the other garbage threads that pop up on here.

It's that insular nature of opening DL and seeing this thread still so active, then being frustrated that fans of the same team are still talking about that subject and thinking you know better.

I'm guilty of this sometimes and admittedly, it's stupid.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
