Trac and Humphries is not a straight swap. The only thing thatcBailey has over Trac is his younger age, which wonโ€™t account for too much in the end.

I still think pick 6/7 +!Humphrey for Teac and 2nd rounder will be sufficient and fair. Maybe 2 rounders if we get desperate.

Trac is a premiership player, 4xAA NM. Bailey has no accolades just yet. His impacts on games this year were on par with an average to above average forward. So he is good and has potential it would be like trading Rivers for Dawson.

Kidding yourself lol

GC would laugh at this

Ain't going to happen. I believe we will settle with a straight swap with minor picks being thrown around. A little under for us but bearable.

All in on Humphrey now lads. [censored] Flanders

With Flanders off the board, itโ€™s either Humphrey or Trac can join the 1st to 4th year boys down at Casey on 12 November to regain respect.

I fear this will all end up being a further disruptive exercise in futility. With Flanders nominating Saints I find it really hard to believe Humphrey or any other decent player is going to nominate us so deal off and hi Trac for preseason 2026.

Out of all the angst and posturing all that may happen is we watch Clarry dominate at GWS while we decide what to do with whatever crappy pick we get.

Hope Iโ€™m wrong.

And they have every right to. In that case - NO DEAL.

Whether you want to admit it or not, Humphrey is a downgrade on Trac. He has potential but so does JVR. Is JVR a straight swap for say Treacy or Georgiadies? He is not.

In a dark mood soooo. My predictions:

Flanders to Saints - Done

Humphrey stays at Suns

Deal for Trac falls through or we backdown and accept a couple of picks and no decent player

Disgruntled, disinterested Trac at Dees 2026

Clarry resets at GWS, has a great year and plays finals while we pay half his wage and we watch whatever draft kid we get with his pick in the 20s.

Happy Days.

I think you are mostly right, but with Clarry out I think Trac will be a new man. Half of his angst is how we enable Clarrys off field behaviour.

We can't accept just picks for Trac. This draft is shallow, next year is compromised with academy selections then Tassie comes in. Drafts are a mugs game for the next few years.

Humper will cost way too much

Well, I guess GC don't want a Norm Smith Medallist on their list.

Petracca hasn't done or said anything the club didn't approve of. Why do people keep thinking he's lost the respect of the group..

If GC agrees to this I'll eat my head on livestream.

Time to see if dees stick to there guns of only letting trac go on our terms, without Humphrey hard to see how they can live up to those words

You learn to expect the worst with Melbourne. But this rolling fiasco takes the cake.

I'm not an optimist when it comes to the Demons, but I think Flanders choosing St Kilda is a positive. It removes any complications: we want Bailey Humphrey, and have since his draft year - we have a champion who wants to play for Gold Coast. We've made it clear we'll only trade him on our terms. Our terms must include Humphrey.

Itโ€™s well within the realm of possibility. But if Clarry goes and Trac stays Iโ€™d expect Trac to have a better year at MFC that 2025.

Humphreys is A grade talent yet to reach his peak

Trac is A grade talent who doesn't have many more years left at the top level, if in fact he can ever get back to that level post injury

it'll be trac plus a decent pick for Humphreys i reckon

Would more than happily attach a pick to Trac if it meant getting Humphrey over the line

We desperately need more established talent to come into the club and Humphrey is the perfect example of that - heโ€™s shown his potential and looks ready to explode

Iโ€™m usually in the camp of letting unhappy players go, but if we canโ€™t get Humphrey and donโ€™t have another big fish on the hook, I think we need to hold Trac otherwise weโ€™re getting a raw deal and can just about lock in bottom four next year

Bailey Humphrey plays for GC and his name is clearly spelt in the title of this thread.

Lawson Humphries plays for Geelong.

There is no player in the AFL with the surname Humphreys.

Thank you.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
