Ok ‘definitely not Judd’s mum’.

You’re just a regular poster - whose only ever posted about Judd.

Oh dear...

While I’m here, can you tell Judd I have a bridge he might like to buy?

Just here to say Jaded is totally on fire ATM across multiple threads

@tim lamb. Ok well spoken.

Agree disappointing to have McVee bail out.

Seems like to most likely deals are

  • Mihocek from the Pies as a free agent

  • Heath from the Saints for say a 3rd round pick (might depend on whether Marshall leaves the Saints)

24, 53, 59

Likely Freo 29 to Dees for McVee

Likely Dees trade 29 to Saints for Heath & 43

Dees take 24 (32) & 43 (57) to the draft

I reckon you should set up a GoFundMe page for poor old put upon Judd and help him with his removal costs to WA.

Or maybe you can be President of Judd's new fan club.

Either he is stupid or he thinks the supporters are. Jefferson 'super exciting'?

Not sure why everyone is so quick to buy the spin.

Tim Lamb has not done a good job since 21'

We are potentially losing 3 of our best 23 this year and at this stage we are only linked to Mihocek, Derksen and Heath.

Well Salem is a 30 year old with a suspect body, and Bowey can play in other spots.

We plucked this kid as a rookie during Covid. We gave him a lifeline. We made him a great player. He was asked to play a position that helped the team while we battled injuries, and he too battled injuries.

To say we wasted 18 months of his career is a joke. If he wanted to leave last year while contracted, we could have at least got a fair deal for him in a strong draft, but no, he chose for his contract to expire and then nominate a club, so we get screwed.

In a team sport, if you are having a sook about your role, and you are a 22 year old who has achieved very little, you need to reassess your ego.

Considering you have posted on here about nothing but McVee, and admitted you have a third hand connection to him, I understand your desire to defend him. But let's call a spade a spade here, he's leaving because he thinks the grass at Freo is greener.

I'm thinking there was more than that which was obvious that he was having a sook about.

This . . . thanks @MurDoc516. I was initially inclined to say that I learnt SFA from the heavily staged interview. In fact I learned a lot. Totally delusion.

Almost certainly losing 3, not much potential about it.

As for the rest, a) it's demonstrably untrue, we've been linked to a number of players, you only have to read this board, and b) the 3 you mentioned are all smart choices, for different reasons:

Mhocek brings experience and on-field leadership to a very young forward line, more importantly he'll take the no. 1 defender and relieve pressure on the likes of JVR. Derksen provides KPD depth, also essential when May is gone, Tom Mac is on his last rodeo and the only tall defender we have coming through is Adams. Heath is essential for our longer term as someone to take over from Max and provide backup and ruck depth, especially now that Verrall is gone.

List management 101.

You mean by giving him the chance to play AFL, which no other club did in his National Draft year including Freo, welcomed him in, looked after him, paid him, Coached and developed him in a team of premiership players, offered him a new contract and agreed to amend it several times, while believing his word he would recommit and gave him the time to do so, until he told then he wouldn’t.

We have basically given him a chance to get poached at lucrative money, that he wouldn’t have if we never gave him that chance in the first place.

Yes we were horrible to him.

Gratitude doesn’t exist, does it?

MD516, 3 of our best 23?

Id ask how much good first 23 football May has left? How many excellent defensive games did he play in '25?

As for Tracc and Judd, Tracc, plenty of good footy left in him but the question marks about him again??????

Judd is just dead to me now, we gave him a start, sooked up cause he didnt get his way, move on.

The MFC will be around long after these 3 are not playing.

I agree there isnt much coming back our way but we still have some very very good young players and vets going around.

Let see what the new regime can do with 100% committed playing group.

All of this.

Why?

Why wouldn’t he find them super exciting? He’s there watching and being involved in their development and has been from the outset. He (and the club) see/know things you don’t.

Some players take longer to hit their straps but their potential is noted. Poor old Luker’s yet to even debut. If you can’t get even moderately excited about our young forwards then barracking for our team must suck for you.

No Derksen mention, him arriving might be contingent on May leaving to free up cap space and open more room in the team.

If the choice was between Mihocek and Derksen I’m not sure who I’d choose.

The guy who is a proven fwd that can mark and kick goals vs a guy who hasn't managed a game in 3 years......

Let me think......

You can argue that our young forwards have some potential, but you can't argue that Tim Lamb/the club have questionable judgement when assessing players that have been in the league more than 2 years.

Our recruitment from other clubs over the past 3 years has been a disaster. Who was proven right with the Grundy trade? Those on here who questioned his fit in the team or the club.

It's no different to fans questioning Goodwin's game plan, and Demonland happy clappers using the argument that they know more than you, so shut up.

Based on his track record, I take what Tim Lamb has to say with a grain of salt.

This is probably nitpicking, but can we please use another word/phrase than “dead” to me.

Especially in these times we can use another description.

He’s 33 by the time he next plays, doesn’t kick a lot of goals and I’m worried we’ll give out what will effectively be a 3rd year deal. It’s not exactly a no brainer.

Hopefully we can get both because we need to turn over our key backs too.

Tim Lamb is master of spin. Recent track record very average. I'm tipping Steven King won't accept mediocrity with players coming in. Our tall forwards have not fired a shot yet and unless King can get Jefferson to take next step then he is just another who will spend his life in the magoos. King will be watching Lamb very closely, and as the CEO said he wants a head turner for Petraccas trade.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
