That was poor. Max was a champ, Riv provided some run from the back half. Most of the team had mares. Glad it is done.

I really hope we play some younger guys like Brown, Laurie, Jefferson and Kentfield. We need to see what they've got. Rest Viney, Van Rooyen, Chandler and Sparrow.

Been a while since he’s been suspended. Should go out with a bang and take Maynard out.

You've got to drop JVR (I'd also look to trade him back to WA). Kentfield a run

Mentha for Sparrow

I double down in my pre match take that selection was and still is a disgrace. Needed to play Jeffo , Kentfield, Laurie, Woey and Brown. NOTHING has changed, those that thought we would beat Hawks with the same old letdown players were delusional. Same with thinking we can toss Magpies! Need to deop Van Rooyen, Sparrow, Viney, Chandler and Fritsch, Play kids next week that will figure in 26. Oh and also FCS Petty may well compete but Play him in defence!

I’d consider managing Kozzie and make up an injury.

His round 24 suspension last year against the Pies derailed our start to this year and we can’t afford to have him on the sidelines for round 1 next year. And let’s face it, bad things always happen we play Collingwood.

Be realistic, we aren’t going to play a bunch of kids who have had all season to convince the selectors and haven’t done so when it’s most likely VFL wildcard round.

Melk will start and barring any issues Tommy Mc will too, farewell games for them both.

Someone in for Sharp, can’t say I care who, probably Spargo.

Yes!

Let's unleash AJ on that vile thug Maynard!

Time for a long belated revenge!

Carl Ditterich style! 🤣

May in lieu Adams turned up trumps😃

Two in particular.

Just a pity that Collingwood get a bloopy to win next week. Would have been great to see them march in with even more pathetic form.

Although I love to win, we don’t even need to beat the Pies for them to miss the top 4. Just don’t get belted and we’re golden.

Gold Coast still have minnow Essendon and Port. Only a 2% gap between them and Collingwood with a game in hand. They should bridge the difference easily and finish on 64pts.

Effectively, the Pies top 4 chances are dead.

I hope we have some pride and self respect and have a serious crack at winning the game.

A poor season could end on a positive note but I’m not sure this group really cares.

If this team wants to win back it’s supporter base. It has one option and one option only.

Come out next week and get F’ing physical, they can’t afford to get suspended. Get in their face and make them bleeed!!!!!!

You don’t think either will go around next year? I think melksham has been our best forward and one of only a few that can kick. Plugga has been decent too

Yes, because we can definitely trust Gold Coast to get the job done....

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
