I hope goody gets to coach us for his final game

And I hope every demons fan that can make it goes to the G and gives goody the send off he deserves

Garry Lyon was quoted as saying there's no chance he will have a farewell game... so who knows?

I would sincerely hope we get a proper chance to say goodbye.

Me too.

Last home game of the season, and a perfect chance to let Goody coach one last time and get the thanks he deserves.

Regardless of whether you believe he needed to go or not, he's earnt the right to a respectful exit.

Settle down, professor. This is Demonland — not New Scientist, not The Economist, and definitely not the CSIRO. We deal in half-baked theories, trauma responses, and selective outrage. Peer review here means three likes and an off-the-wall reply from @Bitter but optimistic.

CSIRO .. thats funny. Talk about dealing in half baked ideas 😉

I await Bitter's response.

Chaplin might not even trouble the wins column in the next 3 weeks

Be surprised if he did, be just as surprised if thats even expected of him.

Kind of interested to see what transpires.

GO Dees

It is my great privilege to be the first to ask…

‘Is Chaplin the right guy?’

Or

‘Was Goody the right guy?’

We are going to get pumped by many this weekend. Hope the players don’t sook it up with the latest news and just roll over.

Wow just a little bit glass half empty

The response from the players this week will be telling

Wouldn’t be shocked if there was massive capitulation this weekend followed by a pretty big player exodus after the season.

I suspect we might see a pretty half hearted effort this week as well. It will be tough for the players to get up for this one.

Oh no, here come the meltdowns....

Selection will be interesting this week. With Simon moving on will there be any changes in philosophy as to player changes and who plays where?

i expect a big response from the players

show the world they weren't responsible for the poor results which led to goody's sacking

happens often after a coach is sacked

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #12 Koltyn Tholstrup

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
