As with most on here I also was pleased with the effort. Fantastic stuff but boy oh boy do we have a few Jim Carrey's out there on the field. Dumb and Dumber was the order of the day. Same old culprits it is sad to say, and you all know them. Yes, umpires didn't help but to get up there with the big clubs we have to play smarter footy and win these games then the AFL, media and umpires will show some respect, and we will win the 50/50 calls.

Also, it seems to me that the young kids are starting to show signs of tiredness and are lacking zip. Maybe one or two of them need a rest.

One thing that stands out since 2021 is we cannot win close games. We seem to panic and cannot close out games

I think with Howes and Tholstrup, you just leave them in for the rest of the year. Get as much game time into them as possible. I started celebrating Koltyns set shot in the last because it was gun barrel straight, only to then fall shot.

Between Howes and McVee, they both Completely shut Hill down for the game.

I actually thought Lindsay was still to be subbed? BTW he has all the traits to be our Sidebottom in years to come. Hes definitely composed and clean with the footy.

Turner is officially in our best 22 line up.

What do we do moving forward with our veterans in the midfield? JV, Petracca and Clarry.

I think the way the game is going we need better users of the ball there. None of those 3 are unfortunately.

Now with the likes of XL, Langford, McVee in our best 22. Can we realistically keep the 3 before mentioned for the long term?

I think your first point is him zoning as part of given directive.

The second two points are spot on. He tackles like a shirt on the clothes line on a windy day

Gawn, Trac and Oliver are some of the best players in the league at winning the footy. In fact, we smashed them in clearances and contested possessions, and that’s why we were able to stay in the contest. But unfortunately these guys are also not great ball users, and their lack of skills can really hurt you in a really tight game where every mistake matters.

Couple that with Pies missing like one set shot to our 10 or so, and that’s the game.

So why didn't the coaches do something about it that's the problem right there.

Both he and McVee was on him,McVee was on Daicos when Daicos went forward

Before the game Max was hitting torps from the 50 and badly miskicking all of them. He should've been practicing his set shots from 20m out instead of practicing torps in the wet.

Chandler could play more through the middle. He's gone up a level this year.

We need to change our 6 6 6 set up forward of the ball. The amount of times Kosi or Trac or Oliver break free from a centre clearances and doesnt hit up (or even try) to hit up a leading target is on the coaches. What's the point of getting it out the front if you're going to bomb it anyway?? We're going to win 4 or 5 of these a games, have a plan. Have we had even one leading mark in 2 weeks with 100 forward 50 entries. Can barely think of one. Its appalling

Kosi was completely correct to expect a free for him running too far.

Just as in the last Pies were paid marks that travelled at best 10m.

In a game decided by a bloody point, a side having nearly 30% more free kicks is diabolical.

No he shouldn’t, you continue the chase until your opponent is out of the play or the umpire blows the whistle it’s one of the many moments which the FD will show the players in the review.

And the review will have no moments of umpires decisions nor should it. In a 1 point game we cost ourselves that game with a lack of composure in pressure moments.

FD got so many match ups right, boys played their hearts out but will rue moments where they didn’t control what they can control and it cost them

We didn't drop Spargo, he's got a fractured shoulder blade.

His kicking inside 50 might have been useful today.

We lost when we failed to convert this set shots and some stupid mistakes in front of goal.
