As much as I love watching him play, and he's been in our best 6 for both games, his return hasn't had a material affect on the team. Two 40 point losses confirm that.

And he won't have a material affect on the result this weekend either given how far off the pace we are. Playing or not.

Hudson: "Well that's a switch!"

Saving his body for his new team huh?

Kinda want to laugh...

But that would be ill mannered...

Perhaps I'll cry instead ...

Not another 57 years. 😭

I officially hate this sport again.

I really don't see the point of playing May when he is carrying injuries. He becomes his nervy, fumbly worst self when he has no confidence in his body (see round 3 v GC as example 1), and it affects everyone around him. Get him 100% right, and get games into Adams or Turner if needed.

Hopefully Pickett is okay, because he is completely irreplaceable from our current list.

The last time i thought the same and we were this bad was 2012.

It took 9 more years for a flag.

You might wanna consider a cryogenic option TD

Thought I’d throw my post in amongst the comments about Kozzie’s new teammates etc., absolutely hilarious as they are 🙄

I hope the injury isn’t serious and that Koz can play on Saturday. If he isn’t fit to play, I hope he’s not too disappointed and wish him a speedy recovery.

- I have one simple request, and that is to have midfielders with frickin' laser beams attached to their feet! Now, evidently, that can't be done. Uh, can you remind me what I pay you people for? Honestly, throw me a bone here! What do we have?

Sorry Simon. But no one believes anything you say anymore, not even a drovers dog!

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
