Would live for the Hawks to miss the 8 this year and for several more.

The level of arrogance that it will just happen again for them is nauseating 🤮

They are not looking good at the moment. Teams have already worked em out and the season hasn’t even started.

My pies employed mate has been telling me that Membrey has been on fire all preseason.

Quite a dynamic forward group over there

Strange seeing Nibbler in yellow.

in #28 - clearly a lesser player than he was in #30 for the red and blue

Looking at the performance of Collingwood's players, they have immense talent on every line. If they stay healthy, they will be very hard to beat. Adding Houston and Membrey as well... even their youth play like 100+ gamers.

I firmly believe the Pies will miss the 8 again. They just don't have the depth to cover the usual injuries that will come with their aging list. Heck, if N Daicos had a season ending injury they would probably finish bottom 4.

Watch for a suite of retirements and trades come season's end.

Could face some stiff competition for a spot after Daicos was declared Collingwood's 'Spearhead' in practice match reports.

Snorts aside, I do wish Membrey well. Realistic shot at being Collingwood's leading goalkicker.

And for the sake of football he has an important job to do to make sure Collingwood don't bottom out enough to get any more top picks until Tassie blows up the draft.

Fun fact, Collingwood are now substantially older than even Geelong, with a staggering 20 players with more than 100 games experience and likely to be included most weeks meaning that their on-field age is going to be even older than their list average.

Daicos and McCreary are the only Magpies under 24 with a solid claim on best 22 spots.

The Bont with an injury

Just give Trac the Brownlow now and be done with it

It wasn’t a legit injury though. He came off in the first quarter for “awareness” reasons. The commentators (Dwayne and Dunstall) said there’s nothing in it. And when he was coming off he smiled at the camera.

But yeah, give Tracc the Brownlow now regardless 😅

starcevich out of the opening northern states round with concussion

I think we might be hearing more on this tomorrow...

...but there does need to be 2 clear weeks between the last practice match & your first game.

Personally I think it's time for practice games to be put to bed.

Adelaide adding 3 best 22 players of the right age and experience is big for them. They'll be good this year.

They’ve gone from something like 3rd youngest list to 8th oldest in one off-season

 Finals or bust for Nicks

It very much suits their game plan.

It will be a fascinating watch tactically nevertheless.

People said the same of Geelong.

GWS look like they've done a hard training session at there captain's run.

No direction whatsoever on every line.

Collingwood might give them a nice old touch up going on this 1st qtr.

Yes these practice games are dangerous. Everything should be inhouse until Round One

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
