If Diacos is to win it, please at least let it be a tie with someone else. Wouldn't even begrudge Cripps tying for him to win a legitimate one!

Do we honestly care as much as we used to? From tribunal inconsistency to umpire favouritism I think the medal is viewed differently of late.

Too many rubbish winners, Neale a two-time winner while Bont hasn’t got one? Give me a spell.

Plenty of great players have won it, and even more great players haven't won it. At least last century if you played in the ruck, or key position you had a chance of winning it.  That's all gone now.

Bontempelli is 10x the player Daicos is. No doubt Daicos is a talent, but so many of his stats come after a teammate takes a mark, before he then sprints into space and receives an easy mark from that teammate’s short to medium pass.

Like almost everyone else I'd love to see Bontempelli win it but it seems the winner will come from Daicos, Cripps or Neale.

If that's the case (and I realise I'm inviting a lengthy suspension from Demonland for saying this) I hope Daicos wins it outright. Say what you like about him being an outside player, his ball use is off the charts.

Cripps already has one that he shouldn't. Winning in 2022 was a victory for the Carlton lawyers.

Neale is a very, very good footballer but triple Brownlow Medallist? No thanks.

Without even thinking and naming some of the greatest like:

Matthews. Carey. Ablett Senior. Barassi. Whitten. Flower. Bartlett. Tuck. Francis Bourke. Selwood.  Dunstall. Bont so far. etc

Has never taken a contested mark IN HIS CAREER....Says a hell of a lot!

I would love to see Bont take it out. He's everything the medalist should be.

As usual I will not watch it but will possibly tune in right near the end to see the result after all the filibuster material.

Again not that interesting if no Dees likely.  No Clarry. No Trac.  Gawn to poll about 16 votes by my calculations.  Agree that it’s going to take about 30 or more to win it.  Neale.  Bont.  Daicos.  Cripps. Any of those four are most likely.

I really hope the bont can somehow win it.

Nothing would make me laugh more if cripps pipped daicos  by a vote. The pies fans would riot. As would the blues fans if it was the other way around

Anyway it will come down to the final round I reckon. Daicos will definitely get the 3 against us

Honestly I lost interest in the brownlow a while ago. It very rarely gives an accurate representation of who the best player was in a given season.

I doubt that anyone thought that Neale was the best player last year. Same goes for Wines in 2021.

Before the last game I said on this site that Goodwin needed to place a HARD tag on Daicos if we were to have any chance of winning.. so mastercoach didn't and the rest is history. IF he wins he should buy Goody a tattslotto ticket for gifting him 3 votes.

Watching or even listening to the count is mind numbingly awful and I gave up bothering as soon as it became a tv event. Watching players get drunk is boring and the only upside is goggling at the wags. Too much inane commentary and pretend analysis. Nobody has a clue.

I am old enough to remember Bob Skilton and Ian Stewart win three brownlows each. Skilton won his playing in a poorly performing side where he was a standout for his skill, courage and determination. Stewart was silky smooth in teams that were at their respective peaks so he outdid some top competition. He won his second medal playing just 12 games out of 18. That's class.

Sadly modern football does not allow for such players to excel. It's all about numbers of possessions but not about the qualities of Skilton and Stewart. The player most like them is Neale who wins his own ball and disposes with skill and flair. The other favoured players do not.

Should he win, will he be considered the equivalent of Skilton and Stewart? Not quite but still deserving.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
