As much as I would enjoy seeing the Lions prevail, I think they may run out of puff in the Gf.

Sure they will get an extra burst of adrenaline by sheer virtue they are playing for a cup but ultimately I feel the Swans will have fresher legs.

It seems to me the lions have been playing out of their skins in several close and exhausting finals. They have traveled more too.

Most likely all of this will have taken a toll in terms of energy and injuries and will ultimately be the difference.

 

I don't mind Fagan and he deserves some redemption but seeing Zorko holding the cup up would make me physically ill

My care factor in this game is next to zero but if pushed I’d probably lean towards the swans because my neighbours won’t have to walk around like bags of misery for weeks 

I may just tune in to see how condescending and divisive the welcome to country is and then head out and go for a swim

There was a ballot which allocated 14,500 reserved seats

Total Number of Unrestricted MCC members is now around 41k with a further 20k unrestricted who aren't eligible for the GF

8.5K unreserved is final number including standing room.

You could rock up at 12 and get a seat this year in the members, restricted will get the email at 11am again saying there is plenty space on level 4 and can buy a ticket for $200 (has been the case in 2022 and 2023 with Victorian teams playing).

At 7.00am the queue will be at the Pullman.  DON'T DO IT,   or you'll be stuck with back rows of Level 4 if your lucky

(the front rows of Level 4 this year are reserved.

As an experienced queuer, 4.00am will guarantee you a good choice. There are only 9000 seats available.  

Take a folding chair- everyone does - leave it behind against a tree when the queue movement starts usually around 7.30 to get everyone ready for opening at 8. Get your seat and your chair, along with 5000 others will still be there in Yarra PArk, then wander home.  4.00am will ensure you get Level 3 in front of Grey Smith bar - best seats IMO, and probably Level 2 balcony if you prefer.  Definitely Level 1.

But get your plan/strategy ready and don't prevaricate or you'll be elbowed aside in the charge. . 

Good luck and have a ball.  Also they open Hugh Trumble cafe overnight so you can grab a coffee there or other spots to kil the time.

I'm interested in attending my first AFL grand final, but 4am is a bit of a daunting! I do love me some Level 3 FGS seats though. 

I know both teams are technically "interstate" but have their origins here and do recall the MCC having decent number of Lions and Swans fans when we've played them recently. 

Any other AFL and MCC members around here that have secured a seat for the big one?

Will be a belter of a game to attend.

The Swans have huge latent interest in Melb and all GF's they have been in since 2005 , whether against Vic or interstate teams have had 98K plus. One year they had 100K.

It all depends where you really want to sit I guess.

When the mighty Dees are in finals in 22 and 23 I queued from noon for 5.00pm opening. But that's me.

Definitely BBP. I've never been to a GF before but I'm wondering if this is a good chance to be a first.

Restricted MCC membership though so not sure how good my chances actually are, I do remember in 2022 they released some last minute tix for restricted members on the Sat morning. 

AFL Members are sold out so it's looking like a sellout all round.

In reality there aren't that many seats available having regard to the popularity of the event itself.

Surprised that the MCC has not gone full ballot but I suspect it will come. I prefer the ballot to the online ticketmaster rush that AFL members have.
