This footage just goes to show how elite Lindsay could be and how fortunate we are to have both these young guns at the Dee’s.

BOG  VIC metro vs country

11 marks, 8 tackles, 30 disposals, 8 score involvents. He was everywhere!

I usually don't comment on highlight reels of new players because that is exactly what they are - poor play doesn't appear.  But this performance seems to show the bad as well as the good because it shows him turning the ball over by foot and hand a large number of times and just bombing it.  I assume that the BOG awarders and our recruitment team saw enough good to overweigh that.

Just worked out who this boy reminds me of and it’s a young Roland Orzabal, the guitarist/vocalist of Tears for Fears.

Hopefully Xavier and the Dees can rule the footy world.

Exactly how player highlights should be.

Then they wouldn't be called highlights

I have it on good authority that they’re all confident he’ll never turn the ball over again

Regarding the way Lindsay positions himself for contact, I see that as more a way to dispose of the ball more accurately while getting knocked off balance. He prepares himself for the tackle / bump and ensures his hands are free and his body is aligned so that when the hit comes, his centre of gravity isn't knocked too far off line.

Think we're sitting on a winner here.

Very happy with this draft, I think we're going to surprise some people next year.

That's  right (imo)  This lad is a thinker.

Looking forward to seeing him develop into quite likely a very good player.

We've had some talent draftees in the past  but they didn't  all transition.  Some were 'skilled' but got caught out .

What becomes salivating is the prospect of the likes of Lindsay as well as Langford playing alongside with  Oliver, Gawn, Viney, Lever, Pickett....

Again not really expecting to see him afield that much in 25.

But he will put his hand up ;)

What about Trac ? And why so half glass about Xavier in 2025?

I think he will adjust very well and expect he will play more than half the games in AFL in 2025.

Tbh... silly as it sounds ....forgot about Trac... I know.. 🤔🤷🤔🤷

Being devils advocate.... we don't bring in kids so expeditiously  these days.

If he does...fine.... I just don't expect club to do that.   But ... I'm  often wrong ( ask the wife 🙄

Makes sense if Kolt is taking 12 as reported. 19 and 30 are next lowest available with 10 reserved for Andy Brayshaw.

Xavier is listed at 183cm. Goodwin is 185cm. How is Xavier taller than Goodwin in this picture?

If Goodwin is like me, he is probably shrinking a bit as he gets older.

Maybe he is wearing those farm boots?

I’ll admit to not having watched any of the kids this year so the following is based on YouTube highlights only.

When we drafted Rivers, the thing that stuck out to me as one of his strengths was his willingness to hit the contest with speed.

I see similarities with Lindsay. It’s not always successful but when it is it breaks the contest wide open. Combined with his skills and evasiveness, he seems like a very very good prospect. The rest is up to him and his application which I also believe to be top notch.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Lindsey is closer to 185cm rather than 183. Same higher as trac. He should have some real size on him in a few years

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
