KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!

Featured Replies

I hope the Media leave him alone to sort this out. Last thing he needs is the constant infiltration of his private life by a increasingly hostile and intrusive press.

That's it, he is off to the Tassie Devils

Totally agree but that's as likely North Melbourne winning every game this season and winning the GF with a record margin.

The Media have taken great delight in CP5 and Oliver performing better in their new surroundings, and they will be ecstatic to have yet another reason to lay the boots into us.

Even if it's completely unfair and inappropriate.

I hope it all works out for Kozz and family.

Im just greatly relieved at this stage that it didnt get dragged out like the Lachie Neale drama.

I’ve no doubt many will wrap their collective arms around Koz and his family. There’s no reason he can’t play for us and spend time in Darwin with his family. As with all these situations the hope is everything works out for them.

Just so I'm clear, he doesn't even start his new contract for another two years, but there are already questions regarding his willingness to stay in Melbourne? Cool bananas.

Yet some here would have you think that we had no choice but to add 7 years onto the end of that. Go figure.

4.5hr direct flight from Melb, just under 4hrs from Adelaide and 3.5hrs from Perth

The issue may be around being near family during a rough time

7 hrs from Hobart to Darwin with no direct flights...

I think we should start a Koz is 100% gone thread and hyperventilate and panic all season.

I miss the old days, when we could at least save the hyperventilating and panic until the games started.

who gives a flying fig. Cornes doesn't get it . Longer contracts - 1. lock in Gun players to your club 2. help you manage your salary cap 3. Give you more leverage in a trade. Yes the risk is the player drops off and looses some value but this is a case Kossie signed a long term contract at 23 years old. A much lower risk profile than many of the long term deals that have been signed

Very predictable and very same same from Kane Kornes yawn

It's getting a bit "old hat" just taking any opportunity to pile on the Dees I mean cmon Kornes, time to move on, find a new show, you've become boring and predictable.

Kane's criticism of Lamb is fair albeit with a few facts incorrect (like the Petty for first rounders). The decision to extend Viney made absolutely no sense and I think that will burn us in the end.

Clayton's deal at the time seemed completely reasonable but the due diligence by the club (not sure if that's Lamb's accountability or a shared one) was clearly not done properly.

I don’t agree at all with this Viney criticism. Who would you replace him with on our list? “Another talented young player” sure, but who do our “talented young players” learn from?

Almost all of the young guys mention how important Viney is around the club. I’d sign him up just to be in rehab all year.

Add to that by the time he signed we'd lost Gus and probably knew we'd be losing ANB. We needed stability and leadership around the place (confirmed when you see what has happened over the last 6 months). Also worth remembering that in the year that he re-signed he won the Bluey as our best player.

Some people seem to have learned nothing from the moving on of James McDonald.

That last paragraph nailed it 👏🏻

Oh Jeez. Didn’t take long. And while wearing the Melbourne cap from Melksham. Not to mention, sorry, but saying that we’re paying for Clarry to get 10 clearances at another club is hypocritical considering he was talking up trading him for 3 years. I get we didn’t get the ROI etc, but as a proponent of the deal (or a deal), he’s now all controversy and clickbait?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
