Remember how we finished off the season in 2020? It was important that we gave it everything despite not having a shot at finals.

This performance tonight says a lot about intent, resilience and pride.

Yes the team is young , but we aren’t even trying. It’s a fn disgrace.

Umps are on Daicos Brownlow watch. Called a free back to Nick after they had taken advantage and had 3 possessions.

The AFL might want to check their SportsBet accounts tonight

slightly better that quarter but still brain dead football letting collingwood players run by themselves with no pressure. they just run the ball down the field pulling players to them and getting the overlap. Dumb, dumb football. the umpiring has been pretty poor quite a few collingwood players have clearly dropped the ball when tackled and nothing. I thought the rule was if a player is sliding in and takes out another player below their legs they are at fault. a lot of poor ball disposal, poor choices, and what happened to that strong tackling we supposed to have shown a few weeks ago. I love fritter but he just runs around and does not seem to be accountable for anyone. all of our players need to put more pressure on the player with the ball. that will result in turnovers, fumbles etc. but at the moment its too easy,

Pressure rating towards end of that quarter was 156 - way below an acceptable AFL standard

The average is 180 ... we've rarely hit that across an entire match all year.  Last week was one exception.

That first quarter was a great example of how far this system is (Goodwin's system) from finals level footy.

Was in a trance the last 5 mins. Really can't thank you enough Benny, for your contributions, for the Grand Final, for what you do off field, for everything.

We were still a chance to play finals though. We needed Freo to win. And our game was before there's. We would have got in on percentage. We lost to Freo and Sydney in the last month despite being heavy favourites in both. We won our last two but we choked to end the season.

I've enjoyed watching Kolt's efforts tonight. Diving to attempt smothers, chasing, corralling. Once he stops fumbling and gets used to the pace, will be great creating turnovers. He did cause a few in that quarter. Keep trying hard, young fella.

The umpire never called play on and you can hear him say daicos free several times.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
