Very proud of the effort so far. Viney just insane. Nobody takes Melbourne being attacked more personally than Jack!

The boys are playing with passion, giving their all and are in front. What more can a supporter ask for?

Seriously slow and lazy, has to decide over summer if he wants to be an afl player again. The concern is to get him fit he might have to risk doing the hammy again and then he’s stuffed.

Agree with all but one word - no way is Salo lazy

Viney and Max playing very well. Turner and Petty also looking good up forward.

Nibbler and Rivers having games to forget. Rivers has picked up a few possessions but has butchered the ball. Both need to lift.

you reckon he is out there not giving 100%?

Wow.

I think he’s going at about 70% of what’s needed.

Whether he’s lazy, unfit or or just doesn’t have any more capacity doesn’t really matter.

The boys are having a dip. There's a win here if they can keep this up in the second half

Captain Viney flying the flag today.

Sending a message to all, he's staying and he'll fix our leadership group.

Join him or leave.

1 handball to half time?

Prior to the last round against the Power when he was very good, he played three poor games in a row. Today's he looks off as well.

I have a secret that I must reveal:

I love Jack Viney ❤️

Yeah we’re making some mistakes but I am actually really enjoying how we are playing today. Max and JV have been fantastic, Turner and Petty pretty good and I think Howes has also been pretty good.

It would be fantastic to pull away in the 3rd Quarter

After Halftime has been a slogfest this Season

well as you have no [censored] idea how about you don’t call him lazy , not trying, lacking leadership?

Viney sent a big msg flexing the guns after his set shot. He ain’t [censored] leaving Angry Leonardo Dicaprio GIF

The show goes on!

It’s either a coincidence or he’s doing too much, surround by new players, out of position. He’s having a dip. Anyone suggesting otherwise is mental

Stop giving him the benefit of the doubt. By playing him we risk injuring him anyway & there goes any trade value. Imagine if he does an ACL. Will get nothing for him. We’ve known for a whole month. Would much rather get games into Kynan Brown.

While Missing Trac Clarry and May, 3 of our best 5 players.
But no doubt supporters will still complain because nothing bring Melbourne fans more joy than complaining.

We all love him despite his many flaws, but you can never doubt his heart.

Damn it that's cruel  15 minute break at work. Puck up my phone and utshalf time.

What have I missed?

Largest goal tally for the year already.

Great to see Charlie Spargo in the rooms!

He is alive!

See sawing affair. GC have missed some easy shots but we've looked more dangerous inside 50.

Turner having a great game in the forward line. Viney ferocious.

Pickett needs to get involved if we're going to hold on.

So just sit our fittest player on the sideline when half our team doesn’t run? It’s stupid. Any of the 23 out there could get injured and impact our plans for next year and their summer. You have to play someone so it may as well be one of our better players, regardless of his plans for next year.

Kynan Brown is a battling skinny kid who does not need afl games yet. If he name was Kynan Smith he probably wouldn’t be on an afl list and/or no one would care that he’s in the VFL.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
