I remember the off season when schwarz did his knee and soon after we lost charles and jakovich permenantly .  lyon hurt his back and Tingay cut his leg so badly on a glass door he was never the same. It felt utterly calamitous and the dream was over. This has got the same sour , bitter, sad feeling re Brayshaw, Oliver and Trac . I’m starting to brace myself.

The curse has a h it of repeating itself! I agree with Lyon though needs to be a leader and suck it up and be part of the solution .. was ok when he signed for 7 years that comes with responsibility & leadership

For some reason I can see him at the Bombers. They would move heaven and earth to get him. Pick 8 plus F1 and a player. If what they are saying about Trac is true, the bombers would be a good fit

Or Freo holding 9, 10, 17.

Pies and the Blues have zero chance

What player would you take though? Surely not 2m ?

Greg Wells yes.

Jesus wept, get a grip. Greg Wells is as big a departure as Christian Petracca?

I'd probably do it for pick 8, future first and someone like Caldwell who i rate, or Nic Martin or Nate Caddy

He, or someone close to him, is leaking to the press. It's messed up.

It would have to be his management.

Didn't a poster on this site in the last couple of weeks mention that a major development was going to go down in the off season after chatting to Richo at Casey?

Can anyone remember who dropped this nugget of knowledge?

I don't think Mckay alone is enough in this trade, I reckon Elijah Hollands would do nicely also.

You know what send him to the Peptides.

Send him for a King's Ransom.

Pick 8, 2nd rounder, Future 1st and one of their mids, Durham will do.

Sung to Someone Like You

Verse 1
I heard that you're settled down,
But I'm aiming higher, want to own this town.
I thought that you'd be thrilled for me,
But now I see, it's not how it’s meant to be.

Pre-Chorus
I was part of something great, we won it all in ‘21,
But now I crave a bigger stage, the spotlight and the fun.
More fans to cheer my name, more followers to gain,
Success is calling, I can't remain.

Chorus
Never thought I'd leave it all behind,
But I’m chasing dreams that I can't find.
With crowds that roar, the lights so bright,
I’m moving on to claim my right.

Verse 2
The past was good, but now it’s time,
To step it up, in a brand new prime.
A chance to grow, expand my brand,
To be the star that everyone demands.

Pre-Chorus
Playing in those famous stripes, or under yellow and black,
Where legends are made, and there’s no turning back.
I’m heading for the top, can’t stay in the past,
A bigger stage, and I’ll make it last.

Chorus
Never thought I'd leave it all behind,
But I’m chasing dreams that I can't find.
With crowds that roar, the lights so bright,
I’m moving on to claim my right.

Bridge
Sorry, my teammates, it’s not you, it’s me,
I’m just reaching for what I know I can be.
For every cheer and every post,
I’ll be the one they talk about the most.

Chorus
Never thought I'd leave it all behind,
But I’m chasing dreams that I can't find.
With crowds that roar, the lights so bright,
I’m moving on to claim my right.

Outro
I wish nothing but the best for you,
But now it’s time for something new.
In the spotlight’s glare, I’ll stand tall,
And maybe one day, you’ll understand it all.

The Club needs new personnel upstairs and the Football Department

But we cannot trade Tracc on a 7 year deal for McKay.
That is capitulation

It has to dig in and remain strong. Fix the problems….

Harry Jones, Caddy, Martin, Durham

I for one can see this narrative turning very quickly against Trac.

Whoever is managing this PR disaster for him needs to be sacked.

Maybe when he becomes damaged goods he’ll realize that you don’t [censored] where you eat.

Am I missing something or is a "godfather offer" kind of irrelevant unless Petracca agrees to the trade?

Free agency was a zero sum game. The (best) players got enormous power. The clubs had it taken away.

The same goes for us. He signed a long term deal which means if we aren’t happy with a trade, a trade isn’t getting done

You can’t eat your cake and then wonder why your pants don’t do up.

Been out all evening, just catching up. Has Trac left yet? Has Goody been sacked? Interesting days ahead!

Lol the posters who were 'nothing to see here, shut up, its all lies!' only a few days ago now turning on Trac, calling him names, like a scorned lover!

It would be hilarious if it wasn't the club I barrack for.

If you're scrolling through this trac, be a leader & help us out of this mess & get us back to being a winning team.

Keep weeping mate, did you ever even see him play.

The funny thing is that it's not like he's chasing his first flag.

Does Christian actually want to win anything in future? Or is it going to be all about the ratings and getting eyeballs on him each week in 90,000 crowds.

Smells of 'me' and not 'we'.

He wants multiple flags, wants to be a hall of famer with the record to match. He's said it before, I reckon he sees the writing on the wall at Melbourne we missed our chance at a dynasty, haven't won a final since the flag, missed finals altogether this year, key personnel have left/retired or are another year older, our already meagre crowds have dwindled and he wants to move to a big club that can win more flags in the few years before he retires.

Personally I think that's the main issue, the other stuff is all just rationalising his decision to the club.

I highly, highly doubt any Melbourne player would be silly enough to read this thread

Freo's pick 9 and Brayshaw/Serong and i'd drive Trac to the airport!!!

Feeling very Ted Lasso, the bit where Jamie gets dumped from a reality show and realizes his brand is worth nothing without the team.

Some do. That’s a fact.

Someone on here was asking about exit interviews being held on Mad Monday. No Mad Monday, instead it’s Wacky Wednesday.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
