Not turning on Petracca at all. I’ve never liked him. A few DL-ers can attest to this since I’ve shared my feelings about it privately for two years now, rather than publicly.

Do you know him at all? Clearly you don’t because if you did you’d know he’s got his own interests way ahead of the Club’s.

Despite not liking him though, I was very confident he would stay and I hoped he would stay which is why I hated having to hear all the misery-mongers leading up to that point in time, a time when no one knew what he’d decide to do.

PS: I find it amusing, also a little disturbing, but not surprising that you would take the time to find particular posts from two weeks ago purely out of spite. Your post serves no other purpose.

You really are a spiteful, petty little person, aren’t you.

I remember a discussion a while ago about how nice our players are. And you said at the time there’s one who’s quite rude to support staff, volunteers etc. I always suspected it was number 13 but now I wonder anew if it might be someone who is at present the subject of wild speculation.

ps can we please all be kind to one another? We all want success for the Dees and there’s enough unkindness in the world at present. ❤️💙♥️💙

Really disappointed in the way our Norm Smith medalist , and home grown premiership hero has leaked his situation to the press, most likely as a deliberate ploy through his management creating nothing but angst to the club that gave him everything and the supporters that loved him, even after the terrible luck we’ve had with Brayshaw etc etc.

If true , not the man I thought he was at all.

He’s the man I knew he was all along. Just sayin’

I think it goes back to the finals last year. I think he saw what playing against Collingwood and Carlton really means in finals and figured he doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to perform on the big stage in front of a hostile crowd.

I think and have heard its seeds were planted during the preseason shambles and continued from there. But then again someone else told me it was all about his injury so depends who you want to believe.

I go to see the Pies a lot with my nephew.  I can see the allure of playing for them.  That said hold firm Dees, the clubs need to offer something amazing or he stays.  Worst situations that this have been turned around so hold firm

Have you read the bigfooty rumour thread as well?

So Trac signs on for life

Then wants to leave

Likely no reasonable deal can be done

So either we keep a disgruntled player and have negative media for the future or trade him for half his worth to our rivals??

Thanks a lot Trac!

It’s looking like this might be his play. Get the club to want him gone so they are prepared to take less to be rid of the problem.
This time last year I thought he would be our next Captain. Now I have a very different opinion of our CP5, whether he stays or goes.

Was this the 'There is one player who never comes over to the cheer squad and says hello and is friendly with fans" topic I recall reading? A few of us guessed Clarry, and some others, and you said Clarry was the opposite: always friendly and willing to chat. Maybe it was Tracc eh?

If you don't want to answer, thats fine. Because it's still public..

This is getting a bit New Ideas gossip raggy now, haha sorry.

The longer this goes on the less I care about Trac staying. Travelling to Casey didn't seem to be a problem when a seven year mega deal was dangled in front of him.

It also contributes to my falling out of love with the AFL competition. Petracca, Bolton, Barrass all on long term contracts that clearly mean diddly squat. Players have all the power now.

Unfair fixtures, the joke that is the MRO, umpiring, fan engagement obsession at breaks. There is just so much that disillusions me. Local footy becomes more appealing by the week.*

*Fun fact. Was at Rosebud v Red Hill elimination final yesterday. Just before 3/4 time play was halted for lightning. Twice in three days at the footy must be some sort of record.

Can you imagine the bont or Toby green turning around and saying this stuff. Nope.

The crowd thing didn't seem an issue when he signed the 5 year deal last year

“Quite rude”??? I must’ve been in a forgiving mood that day because that’s putting it nicely. Of course, there’s no telling people because I’d be torn down in a heartbeat. Not gonna lie… I don’t hate that people are now seeing what I’ve been seeing for a couple of years.

I don’t know what you’re implying and I don’t read bigfooty. I can only go by what I see and experience myself.

No but there’s not a lot of management coming either. Where’s the work done to make sure Tracc and the club never got to this stage.

Same guys manage Clarry.

I’m so glad my long held admiration for Clayton has not been torn asunder! And that I can retain the #13 across my guernseys.

My 9yo is a little confused about the Petracca situation as we talked about it - “why does he want to leave? He’s my favourite! What number will I put on my top now Alex Neale Bullen is leaving too?”

I said number 13, 7, 11 or 6! Or 1. Decisions!! His grandmother did have Jake Lever at Romsey kinder though so there is that 😂😂

Sorry but I’m of the opinion that there should be a bit of honesty & loyalty from a player that the club club has invested 10 million dollars in over 7 years.

The club is bigger than the individual, if you’re happy about him wanting to play in front of bigger crowds and a closer training base good for you, go follow the individual

Can you read? I didn't say I was happy about it.

I'm just pointing out that when you're putting a $10m contract in front of someone in an industry that can change quickly ....that the commute and crowds are not a major factor.

Signing the contract guaranteed him financial security. If he's good enough, which he is, the entity that contract belongs to can change if he wants. Contracted players change teams all the time.

I'm not happy about it at all and back the club over him every day - but it's naive fan thinking that he somehow 'owes us' and that $10m buys loyalty and honesty (when really, every club would pay him if they had him)

That’s not at all what I said. He’s not a loser he’s a bloody good player, which is precisely why we are not going to trade him for a packet of chips because he’s having a hissy fit and wants to go play for a big club.

Just as we weren’t going to throw Clarry out for peanuts when he was melting down.

No no, that was just me, changed my attitude on him.

Makes me appreciate the guy even more that a few cheer squad members don't like him lol

I'm not spiteful at all, just hilarious the irony in all this that all of a sudden how quickly you can turn on a player when he's clearly brought negative press to the footy club.

As recent as a few days ago and last week you were still critical of people on here for suggesting he leaves. Funny..

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
