Would you believe I’ve never seen this cut. Thanks - what the hell has happened to this club.

After reading the comments I'm thinking there were a few who hadn't seen it.
And yeah ... As I stated up higher.
It's starting to be a tough watch.

Could’ve been worse, you could have described it like being at a Democratic Party rally.

It’s weird. You obviously find Zach Galafanskis amusing, but he’s….ah, never mind.

We led 3 of the 4 finals early before being overrun late. We mostly had full strength sides except for Petty last season. We couldn’t shake off the opposition even once despite close games.

We had a few who were limping into the finals with injury. Fritta being the obvious one.

First I’ve heard of this. I wonder if I’m alone in not having heard it 🤷‍♀️

I'm pretty sure I've heard Max say he told goody to leave LJ in the centre square because he was dominating at that point

Ok have I missed something- has then been another story in the press I haven’t hear off? Why is everybody convinced he’s off to the Pies? Should I been even more worried or are we all just jumping at shadows?

Collingwood don't have the capital to get him unless they want to give us one of the Daicos boys. It isn't going to happen.

If Trac really wants to leave he will know that he needs to go to a club that can actually get the deal done and satisfy our trade requirements.

I remember Nathan Buckley saying once that you can lose players but you can also win them back. I still don't think he goes, but if he does it will spell the end for this regime.

I was talking to someone with close connections to Collingwood about the Daicos brothers being unhappy at Collingwood and wanting out. Their dramatic fall from 2023 Premiers to being outside of the 8 this year, combined with their coach calling the playing list a bunch of losers a few weeks ago, and then going blaming last weeks loss on the umpires can only have left them disenfranchised with the direction of the club.

If Trac goes …he goes because sadly we’re not a top 4 club (member wise) He loves playing in front of big crowds & what we dish up (crowd wise)  is not what he wants. He def wouldn’t go interstate (no MCG) there & so who knows who will come for him but I’d rather have Oliver & Viney (who will stay) because I believe they bleed red & blue (like Max) . I don’t feel that with Trac. He’s 29 played in all our finals series but didn’t make a difference in winning or losing so I’d def take the high picks if they come our way. I personally have lost a bit of love for him..still can’t believe he acknowledged Maynard after the Brayshaw act.

His set shots were part of the problem we lost those finals, couldn't handle the pressure of the big crowds. Better he stay at Melbourne...

Given the confusion I think now is the right time to set the record straight.

i was in the Perth for the granny (I snuck across the border. Don’t tell anyone). I was sitting behind the dugout and noticed how well dogga was going in the middle in the 3rd. I yelled out to goody ‘Reckon you should leave dogga on for the quarter. He’s killing it’. Goody turned around, nodded his head and gave me a thumbs up. The rest is history.

hope I’ve cleared that up for everybody.

Very tangential… The phrase ‘jumping at shadows’ has always kinda been a bit weird to me, because generally, everything has a shadow and if it’s making you jump, then it’s probably moving? So you could be jumping at a shadow of a thing that’s actually there.

Because of this, I can only give that phrase, 2 out of 5 stars for conceptual integrity.

Hnmm a distinct but DISTURBING possibility. If he goes, cheezus there will be a LOT of Members INCLUDING ME Totally peeezed of. Seriously if he goes then our culture is poisen. Coz many other players stuff up and come out OK on the other side! Why can't we be the same. Sorry but if he goes, cheezus ARMAGEDON awaits!

Does seem something is amiss at the club.

I hope it's just all rumor and innuendo.

I've said it here before but if any of Oliver, Petracca or Viney are traded I will cancel my membership. Not so much because they left but because of what led to it.

This is such [censored] amateur hour. 1965. 1980s. 90s. 2000s. 2020s. Not even a flag can save us from being just the same old Melbourne.

Well not quite- crises at the club are usually preceded by periods of sustained mediocrity, this one was preceded by actual success - we will always have 2021!

The poster said it was Burgo who instigated the LJ move.

Again, I know that. I was questioning the poster’s assertion that Burgo was the one who “instigated” that move.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
