GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide

Clarry needs to be subbed off at half time -  his efforts are embarrassing….

I'm sorry but poor Oliver is just lost out there.

He had one touch that quarter and five for the whole game.

Of those he's just turned it over.

Almost feel he should be subbed off.

We can't afford to carry these sort of games.

I know he's been one of the greatest players ever for us but that makes it even more worrying.

Oliver’s hand has to be the excuse . So if he cannot handball or tackle, then why is he out there? Seriously it is so glaringly obvious he does not belong in the starting line up.

The H Francis love from the commentary.......[censored].

Kozzie half his size and twice as good tonight.

His hand. Tentative going for a rolling ground ball. So unlike him.

And really does seem very heavy in the legs, l love the bloke but he’s career seems to be in limbo

Kozzy and Jack are the only reasons to watch this game atm.

sub oliver off to give him a rest. they guy needs time to recover. At the moment he is a liability the way he is playing. our forwards need to do better, as does our delivery into the forward line. a lot of good play up fields is totally destroyed by our delivery into the forward line. and the umpiring has been pretty bad our players held, pushed in the back, they drop the ball everything going unnoticed by the umpires. really the AFL needs to do something about that.

Oliver playing like trash.

Sub him out.

Here at the ground Oliver looks sick

Just nicked out the shed for a dart.
Radio on and hear the commentators.
"Bit of a nothing game ATM"
"Yeah, hasn't reached any great heights."

This is my issue with Goodwin.
Our games never do.
Dour, rugby scrum.

Effort fantastic. Kossie one on one will beat anyone. Great to be here on a beautiful night.

Love Oliver to be subbed, but if Marshall is out, we are very tall down back

It always feels like Port spear their kicks and we're just up and under kings.

Exactly. Up and under kings … jv7, Salem, Billings, Clarry… all like 9 iron chip kicks versus Houston, Bergman, Horne-Francis darts !!!

Petty's been good. Turner too.

Jvr bern struggling of late but he gives his all.

Our delivery fwd hasn't been quick like Ports.

And to be fair , Port have flooded our fwd line quick smart all night.

Surely it's not still his hand. Don't know what it is. You'd think instinct would kick in.How can you go from being the best player in the league to being a passenger

Get Melky on. Even Jeffo would have got his hands on some of those balls coming in. And Blake Howes is a complete waste of space down back.

An aberration.

His hands just aren’t that good, just not a one grabber

Where has that forward half pressure been in the last 6 weeks?

Really sick and tired with all and sundry, commentators included, slagging the champion that is Clayton Oliver. Issues well documented and 14 pins in his hand and still our highest possession gatherer for the season. He'll be back bigger and better than ever. Champions are rare. Give him the respect he deserves.

Absolutely agree!

Glad our match day entertainment has succumb to the stupid visuals of people in the crowd

Came to say the same. He tried making himself throw up with the doctor standing next to him.

Really liking what I've seen today.

Nothing perfect or flashy but highly contested and every player giving a lot of effort.

This is what we need to see for the rest of the season.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
