I haven't read a single post in.this thread, so apologies if it's been covered.

Is goody a verb?

If so, what does it mean?

I'm thinking perhaps it's a typo, and thread title is actually

Time to go giddy?

Or perhaps goody is a euphemism?

For what, I'm shudder to think.

Is there a similar thread at Collingwood because they finished out of the 8,sliding down from a Premiership.

Then compare not just the injuries, but the quality(players) of injured time  !!!

I do not think Goodwin was responsible for Brayshaw, Oliver, Petracca , May, Lever , Gawn ets.

But he is responsible for EVERYTHING ELSE and on that level as a coach he has failed dismally in the last 3 years.

MFC BEST AND FAIREST SPEECH 2024 BY GOODY

Summarized as

thanks to Gus 👏👏

thanks to NIBBLER 👏👏

Thanks and farewell to Stafford and Plunkett 👏👏

Got to love the process

Go to love the hard work

it’s not results … it’s the journey

The success is in loving the process

it’s not about winning the GF , it’s the process

In following and loving the process, you will develop

Embrace the process, you must love the process

I’m excited for the future

We must fall in love for the process of self improvement

So bring on 2025

footnote from me … A few words slurred by Goody.  Perhaps get him to do his speech earlier in the night !!

As much as I want Goody gone I do agree with the point about who would we replace him with? And even if we could find someone, I wouldnt like to put all the drama surrounding the club right now on a new coach, that would be completely unfair. Let the people in charge of this mess (the coach, the board, the president, the list management manager, the CEO) get it fixed or all go down in flames together next year.

Edit: Also, would you trust this board and CEO with a new appointment? I wouldnt. Would much rather let a new CEO and board decide who the next coach would be if we got to that.

Danny Daly.

Has been Chris Fagans right hand man for the past couple of years and has been noted as a big architect in their success behind the scenes.

Currently a wanted man around the country. Adelaide were chasing him hard as a senior assistant to support Matthew Nicks.

Collingwood are also chasing him hard as we speak.

Fages pays full credit to Daly for his support and ability to provide calmness and stability when he was stood down for the racial investigation. A wise man who's an incredible character very similar to Fagan.

The question is though Dazzle, why would he want to come here as things stands if hes as popular as you say? Surely he can be picky?

Very similar to the mess that Chris Fagan walked into when he took on the Brisbane gig.

I dont seem to remember Fages being a hot candidate though.

No he wasn't.

I believe they didn't attract many applicants because of how bad the place was and certainly wasn't an enticing place to attract good applicants at the time.

It took Greg Swann to pick up and put the call out to Fgan and asked if he was interested.

Fagan was general manager of footy for the Hawks at the time and had always held interest in coaching so he took the call, went up and interviewed and the rest is history.

It’d be a TOUGH gig for an untried coach not just because of the apparent rabble at board/admin level but because the incumbent coach is much-loved by all of our best players (some of whom are already attempting to bail on us)… Adam Simpson or dare I say it Nathan Buckley seems like a more obvious fit given our situation.

Although not sure we could afford a big name if we asked Goodwin to leave and had to pay him out

Honestly if you think the situation at Melbourne is a 'similar mess' to the death spiral which Fagan dragged Brisbane out of, you've lost touch with reality.

Is there any truth to the rumours in your opinion that goodie will be leaving after the reviews completion? A few people are saying that including a source reporting to fox sports. Do you reckon this is actually a likely thing that will happen behind the scenes?

There’s all sorts of rumours, one was doing the rounds last week that the B & F was going to be his last night as coach and it was to come with an announcement of Goody stepping down. Seems like that one missed.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
