The Form line of The Dogs is outrageous!!!

Nice one Eric!

Have had better mornings on holidays (in Croatia at the moment), Pittonet in the ruck making the Blues slower than needed, Cerra and Cottrell not contributing enough after returns from injury.

Freo lost so that is at least a positive in the chase for second spot.

Over to the Dees now to beat Essendon ... time for a polo shirt change (it is 32ยฐC here) ๐Ÿ˜

Hilarious this week on First Crack, they will all have to wind in their Geelong is finished comments.

And even better the 'Melbourne is done' comments.

After last nightโ€™s brilliant effort we could still end the weekend outside the 8 if Port win. Clearly GWS will beat Richmond and Brisbane most likely over WC. So letโ€™s go Suns!

Probably going to need 13 wins plus a good % to make the 8 this year.

Far more excited to go for the biggest upset of the year x 2 in Richmond or West Coast today. Either of them winning, and taking four points off GWS/Brisbane, would do wonders. GC beating Port helps, but keeps GC close to us.

Reality is our fixture means if we get to 13 wins we're likely to make finals because that will require us to take four points of three of our rivals for finals spots.ย

You do realise it is possible that after tonight they may jump ahead of us without having kicked a ball today?

Back in the Neeld era we could lose by 6 - 8 goals and gain percentage.

Lets go Suns and maybe the Tigers can pull off a mInor miracle against GWS.

Charlie Dixon; when youโ€™re repairing a clogged toilet at 12 and lining up at FF at 1.ย

Gold Coast hanging on through the third quarter, which is good for our home final/top 4 aspirations for the optimists (and for anyone anticipating a snort-laugh at the 'Pies dropping to 12th), but for the pessimists it is all about the late sunday shift with upsets for West Coast and Richmond offering pure icing on an already good round 18 cake.

I canโ€™t see West Coast beating Brisbane unless they pluck out the old play out of their skin now the coach is gone trick. They looked mentally and physically out of juice against us week.ย

For some reason Iโ€™m more optimistic about Richmond beating GWS, although I should probably remind myself that the ladder is the way it is for good reason.

With GC looking like they'll upset port Adelaide, there's a real chance we'll be in the 8 after this round is done.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
