Gotta hand it to the club despite my reservations about some players picked from other clubs which I understand for the experience factor, the pool of youngsters coming through is pretty exciting and going fwd we have a strong combination of experience and youth.

My view is he should be in the forward line all game. We are using him simply because there is no one else. I fear the alternatives at Casey are worse than the Roo. But we won't know if we don't give them a go.

On watching the replay it was quite evident that the umps were red hot on us for htb and not really forthcoming in rewarding our tackles .

And how dare that little upstart having a crack at our beloved Max.

He only averages about 1 hit out to advantage per match.  Not the best at ground level either post contest.

I agree.  He doesn't offer much imho.

I'd rather play Fullo and let Rooh focus on his forward efforts & craft.

Fullo will also get beaten a fair percentage of the time but will also win the odd tap to advantage a little more often than Rooh.  I'd wager about 3 to 5 for Fullo in a full match vs Rooh's 1.

I'd rather see Fullo getting pummelled in there anyway vs Rooh.  Rooh's just starting to hit some nice form.  Last thing we can afford is an injured JVR in a ruck contest that he rarely wins anyway.

For me reid is just a super competitive kid who hates losing. He stands out to me as someone diffeent to jhf as he seems to buy into the Eagles culture. 

He's polar opposite to Jack watts who was also a pick 1, one of the least competitive pick 1's I've seen

You might be right but I would point out that Nick Daicos is the same height and only a few kgs heavier. Not sure if there is a power differential. Nicks doesn’t bullock his way through stoppages, like a Cripps or Viney but is still highly effective, maybe Judd has a little of what Nick has.

The point you make is right. The ability to go through the stoppage at speed and with clean hands means you don't need to be a big bull in the centre square. This is especially now the case with the big ruck circle. Butters is another good example of a very good centre clearance player who is small.

I like McVee, but I think Nick Daicos is at least one level above and he is a fair bit quicker and stronger. The other thing to note is how well Darcy Cameron is going in the centre bounces at directing his taps and the Pies are setting up for Daicos to run through the centre stoppage at speed. We have been trying to do this sometimes with Kossie, but you can only really afford to have one attacking player like this in the centre clearance. A great thing about Kossie in this role is that he is dual sided.

I actually think Windsor is actually more likely to be an inside midfielder for us than McVee in time because he has elite pace off the mark and he has shown exceptional handball/decision making in tight.

Daicos has more power through his legs and hips, a lower centre of gravity.

TMac played a terrific game - more than just experience, he led the way, so often. His reading of the play was an absolute bonus. Great to see him confidently moving us forward.

Clarry has been tagged a lot lately so perhaps they put him in this role so he can learn how the tagger game is played; this may give him a better understanding as to how to beat the tag.

i'm more than happy for naicos to run thru the middle as his disposal efficiency has dropped off the charts as a result

Can't recall a game that we have won where you didn't see the name Viney, Gawn Oliver or Petracca among the best

For all of the positives including the best 'mongrel' ever, Jack V does concentrate on the long  bomb, sadly. He can use his great eyes to sight, sign and deliver passes to teammates, yet seldom shows this quality attribute; in other words, it would be good (if we are going to further generate a running stampede as we did against the Weagles) to encourage Jack to have a whisper to his flankers to make/find/exploit space for some higher-percentage passing in Jack's trot forward with the ball.
