Trade Targets

Featured Replies

adding a new name to the watchlist, was raised on sen today as a trade target for victorian clubs but actually has been on my mind a while (i know people who know) jordan butts is down the order at adelaide, good shep boy his mates are down here in melbourne,

if he got 3 years security here i rkn he'd take it. assume north would have a look, maybe dogs/blues/dons/pies if we hadnt have been so set on may and mcdonald we mightve been able to have a look too. wont set the world on fire but billy frampton is a premiership player and he isnt 33 years old

IMO weโ€™d be mad to not be asking the question of Charlie Curnow.

He wants to get out of Melbourne the city and away from the footy fish bowl.

Get this man in. Promise him some more midfield time. Watch him soar

If we happen to pick up Jordon Butts, I'd like to see his jumper presented by Damien Gaspar and Craig Smoker.

Kane Cornes on SEN this morning is not a fan. Described him as a small, one speed accumulator who doesnโ€™t hurt sides with his short kicks and low meters gained numbers. May not be what we need.

I donโ€™t know if Cornes is the right person to be listening to, he has an agenda on quite a few players including Flanders. Itโ€™s up to what our recruiting team and new coach want, but I think he could at the very least be a solid contributor, and better than what we currently have in that area, he walks into our starting 22.

I would be chasing Max Gruzewski from the Giants.

Family here.

Behind Cadman, Hogan, Brown and Riccardi.

Contracted to 2026.

Giants facing a list squeeze.

Was happy to be drafted by us but we couldnโ€™t get him.

Would be great. However given the Giants are losing other talls (Aleer to Saints, Derksen to us) And he is contracted for next year. I highly doubt they let him go (given their stance on Derksen last year.) In this case I believe we prioritise the basically 'locked up' deal for Derksen and I reckon another 'done deal' on Max Heath from the saints as a Forward/Ruck option.

"Ruthless" I dont know. They are throwing ridiculous cash around for players not in the top 50 rated this year. Thye just seem intent in acquiring whatever they can get.
Let's see what happens with Flanders who I rate but if I had the choice between him or WIndhager to target its the latter all the way for me.

They're definitely scatter gunning it and my St Kilda mates can't work out why they went for TDK when they have some very promising young talls on their list already.

That said, I think St Kilda are on the up and could well play finals next year.

But Flanders plays for another side, so automatically has to be good. If he was at Melbourne, the same posters complaining that we're not targeting him would be calling for him to be delisted.

Yep, just like nibbler wanted to go home after signing a long term deal

Absolutely nothing to do with jumping off sinking ship

Curnow a required player (almost)

Curnow did not specify a destination, but the view has long been that he would be most amenable to a move to Sydney, Geelong or Gold Coast.

The Blues are holding firm, knowing that Curnow is contracted for a further four years on more than a million dollars a season.

But Carlton would likely entertain an offer from one of those clubs if it was for one of the absolute A-grade players, such as Swans Errol Gulden, Isaac Heeney or Chad Warner, or Geelongโ€™s Max Holmes โ€“ which appears improbable at this point.

Guaranteed the media talk Curnow down so much he ends up at Geelong for a future first round pick, no more.

You're correct. Absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

But hey, if you don't know just speculate right? ๐Ÿ™„

I wouldnโ€™t say he small, and I wouldnโ€™t say he doesnโ€™t hurt sides, super clean short sharp skills are still valuable.

The lack of pace is a concern tho, so I see why the Suns have struggled to fit him in at times.

Dimma loves pace from half back so Rioli and Noble are the choices there. He needs a defensive mid to go with Rowell and Anderson so has tried Alex Davies and Will Graham.

Then Touk Miller is perfect for that accumulating mid/high half forward rotation.

He can play on the wing but has a ceiling there with the lack of pace.

We could do with a skilled accumulator to fit our future midfield of Langford, Lindsay, Windsor etc but at what cost?

Out of contract for a second rounder sure. In contract with the Suns holding the cards, no thanks.

That's News Corp levels of stating the laughably obvious.

No thanks. Bog average

Saints supposedly now throwing money at Silvagni. Most of their squad must be playing pro bono next year.

Few interesting players delisted, Cincotta, Finlayson.

What is everyoneโ€™s thoughts?

I rather McLeod and Fevola out of retirement if Iโ€™m being honest
