“He was very close at the end of last year. He’s a 196cm key forward who can pinch-hit in the ruck.

“He is super competitive, and we don’t say that very often about young men of that size. It’s just instinctive to him.

“He’s another one that hasn’t had a lot of air time but one to keep an eye on.

“I don’t have a club for him, but I think he will go.”

    Height: 194cm

    A well-built and aggressive tall forward who progressed this year from the under 18s to play 10 matches at senior level for Subiaco. His physical presence and marking are both features of his play. Showed strength in the air and mobility as a target forward in three appearances for Western Australia at the National Championships. Kicked 22 goals across 20 matches this season at various levels in the talent pathway. His 8.42 seconds for the agility test at the state Draft Combine was a strong indicator of his mobility.

    Big talk aggressive key forward who was certainly unlucky not to get picked up last year.

    Vice like hands who isn't afraid to crash packs and has certainly shown that at WAFL senior level.

    Definitely a development longer term selection.  2024 output is modest so far.  Still only 19 so another waiting game.

    Big boy forward which probably gives us a complementary skill set from Schache and Fullarton. Seems less mobile than them but willing to camp under the high ball and compete, which we need. 

    Old fashioned style of forward so I’m excited to see how his skill set translates to AF L level.

    Going to be an interesting Casey team with Jefferson, Brown, Fullarton, Schache and Kentfield in the same forward line!

    Interesting that a knock on him was his speed, but his agility seems quite good. With a bit of forward craft he might make up for a lack of speed

    A little disappointed that we overlooked the chance for immediate help for a project tall who hasn’t really done anything to suggest he’d be an in demand pick in the top 45 of the national draft.

    But obviously we need more tall forward help and in JT we trust. 

    Skills look nice and seems to understand using his body, height/athleticism (if destined to play back up ruck as well as forward) and output are probably the question marks.

    At Casey, Schache can play key back. Would think Fullarton could too.

      Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
