Interesting watching May. He's brilliant, but needs time to recover.

If we can get it clear and there's repeat efforts he's going to struggle.

Can we sneak him out there with a green whistle down his jocks?

We have not got out of second gear in that quarter with not a lot of work or cover out of our midfield. Defence is standing tall with May just amazing with the game he has played so far. I hope he holds up.

gave away that late goal which is a bummer but generally not too bad given our lack of pressure and lack of drive from the middle.

I expect us to step up in this quarter and get the game on our terms.

No panic. play our game.

Last week's game was almost finals like.

I fear we are flat

Just what the Afl wanted.

Five day break after that game is a joke .

Midfield getting smashed again just like against Port. Surely we’re due to turn this around?

They were always going to come out firing

7 shots to 2 and we are 5 points down

i’ll take that!

Though Adelaide inside 50 is dreadful. Low quality entries.

Need to reset on how we go inside 50.

Get the smalls to the fall of the ball and get it in quicker, flood or no flood, defences wilt if you get it in quick.

Also need to stand up in the midfield, as we’re getting monstered with the inside 50 count.

Midfield need to lift bigtime

This game is for Adelaides season survival essentially. They aren’t good on the road so can’t really afford to drop many home games. They’re coming hard but we got this.

They are clogging us up

Did well to stay close

Suspect their is s 3-4 goal breeze to the cheer squad end

Go Dees!

Getting belted in clearances and inside 50s

really pathetic display so far

Settle down

Settle people, if we had got reward for our tackling we'd be 3 goals up

Started well but intensity dropped off mid way. Terrible kick from Rivers at that stage of the quarter.

McVee has been great despite one  Rankine goal.

May some great marks.

Can we play BBB out of the square? Looks unnatural him chasing down defenders.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
