Can we sub Billings off now?

I thought he was supposed to be a good kick.

He's not at all tonight.

[censored] Billings, should have 3 goals tonight. Meant to be a good kick. Oh well. Still in front, come on Dees lets finish it.

we should have a runner to take the handball from maxy in those situations. he never kicks those. 50 meter out on an angle no problem but everything else less than 50/50

Someone please tell Goodwin

Even though the 5 day break will have a bearing, I back our last quarter fitness from this point.

Hey hey easy there, he’s kicked half a goal thank you very much…

To bad we couldn’t finish it that qtr would have been good to be able to take it easy on the last

We missed three set shots in a row at the end.

We could have iced it.

You don't want them anywhere near us in the last with that crowd.

We converted so well last week.

Need to convert this last quarter or we'll be in strife.

Jack Billings kicking seems as bad as Maxies

A professional, workman like quarter from the Dees there.

Oliver has lifted and was very good, want him to step up again in the last and run out the game.

Billings is not have a good game for the second game in a row. He might get a rest next week I expect Woewoden to take his place early in the last quarter.

Sparrow had a good quarter.

Like this and would like to see us put three more goals into the lead before the end.

Go Dees!

Billings well known for yips in front of goal at Saints. I have thought apart from his goal kicking he’s been more than serviceable tonight.

Over his 10 years he's kicked a total 102.118. Less than a 50/50 kick! I guess that's why the Saints got fed up. Disappointing!

There’s absolutely no point in him getting wiped out

Crows will throw everything at us this quarter. Far from over.

Everyone yukking Billings' kicking, no one celebrating his chase down tackle. Ok then.

Hopefully it’s enough of a lead. I wonder how much we have in the legs so we won’t want to make this hard for ourselves. Let’s try to put this out of reach in the first 5 minutes so we can lock it down a bit.

It was a great tackle but shame about the finish!

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
