For those wishing for a bit of local colour. The adjacent island of Nusa Penida has the Pura Dalem Penetaran Ped temple, within which there is a shrine for a Balinese Demon. It is amongst other things a place of pilgrimage for those seeking  a safe return journey.

Serendipitously for the man rescued Goody was there. An offering at the temple may be in order.

Tomorrow we will find out that the man who dislocated his shoulder jumping into the water was none other than Joel Smith.

I think Warner will write that it was actually this young man’s time and that Goodwin shouldn’t be getting in the way of the natural order of things.

I was once told by a member of the legal profession when all else had failed there was still ‘karma’ turned out to be true.

I hear it was Max Gawn. He flew from Fiji to dislocate the men’s shoulder in Bali, then flew home to find Clayton Oliver has burnt his house down.
I read it on Twitter so it’s 100% true.

“Melbourne Demons coach Simon Goodwin saves drowning man. Eye-witnesses say they’re unsure if Goodwin was responsible for initially drowning the man before coming to his aid.”

With Joel's injury history it wouldn't surprise...

Some fine contributions there. Perhaps a reflection would help by some who have been in similar situations as to what can go wrong very quickly.

Course not. It's a positive story

Now we just need Oliver to rescue a dog from a burning building.

Or he could just follow in the footsteps of the 'humanitarian of the year, Maynard', help an old lady cross the street.

As predicted SEN not running with the story.

Well every anti Melb story has been heavily embellished

I have to admit I was in a bit of disbelief when I saw this story, simply because the media are going through their bi-monthly period of kicking Goody and the club.  How dare they allow themselves to be distracted!

If it were Cody Weightman, he’d still probably drop the knee and Clarry would be done for high

Surprised Lachie Neale didn't end up polling 3 Brownlow votes on this

Would have been difficult to swim back to shore with a dislocated shoulder I'd imagine. Don't be negative  about a positive.

I'm impressed he had time to put 3 bets on at the TAB, finish his pot, and get in the water to save the bloke!

Yeah but can he save the footy club??

Yes we won a premiership 2021

Oh ffs, tell the guy who’s still living thanks to Goody that this is a “touch dramatic.”

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
