So, the obvious speculation is, do we try for both?

Would Yasmin be willing to move back to Melbourne for our AFLW team, so we can get the full XYZ Duursma?

Now that'd be a generational shift!

Not sure there is much wisdom in us taking a C grade midfielder to give one of our premierships rivals one of the picks they need to fix their significant ruck and defensive issues. Pass, unless he comes as a delisted free agent.

Pass. Since his debut season, he's struggled with injuries and form. After his performance in the finals, I'm not surprised Port are trying to offload him.

Gee he struggled in the finals. I hope we are not interested.

"Struggled in finals" and "Bombers showning interest" right there next to each other.

I believe the kids these days call it 'found object art'.

I think Duursma has lot of talent. Fast, tall, long kicking wingman. He is only 22 and has suffered a lot of injuries.

Buy low.

He would be a reasonable improvement on Hunter and I think his potential upside would be worth a punt.

Like many, a 'restart' at a new club may definitely reinvigorate him and help him to return to the form he showed when he came on the scene. Assuming you wouldn't have to give up a great deal for him, I'd be very interested.

Wouldn’t be in our best 22 and is a clear downgrade from Langdon and Hunter, even if they weren’t great this year. I’d rather try Howes or Woe or Laurie on a wing or outside mid ahead of him. He was good in his debut season, but a lot of that was just down to his youthful energy rather than any skill. Since then he’s battled injuries and never showed form to AFL level. His finals series was atrocious. He’d be depth only and worth a token 3rd- 4th round pick that wouldn’t be used at draft by any team.

Not small, but 186 isn't tall and not a great user of the ball, just what we need.

If it helps us get younger brother Willem in a couple of years, (it won't) I'm for it.

Yes, Willem will be the best of the lot of them, already dominating at Foster as a 16 year old.

He plays tall, with long arms and big leap. I think he will be a good player.

Be a great get, kid has plenty of growth pretty much had a year ruled out by injury.  Take him over McAdam any day!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
