Can't hurt to put it out there and dream ...

Is this, this years ‘Trade Riddle’?
😂🤪😜

to be honest, the king bros don't do a huge amount for me

their primary ability is height, and they both suffer from a shortage of the greatest ability of them all; availability

Ben’s played 14 - 17 - 22 - 0 - 20 games in his career. Pretty good for a young key forward.

You can have King, Wade, McKenna and Hudson in our forward line and still wouldn't kick a winning score. King just a youngster starting out whilst Wade had Goggin then Krakouers, Mckenna had Price etc hitting them up on the lead whilst Hudson had the whole forward line to himself. Until our current Mids learn to lower eyes and deliver correctly then no big name in our forward line will get us to the next premiership. Would prefer mids with elite disposal and awareness and stay with Petty JVR etc. Give me a Guilden like player and I'd be happy.

Interesting...

GC in need of cap space (perpetually) and Walter is set to come in to quickly relegate King to second fiddle.

Not the silliest suggestion.

Has only worked once in nearly 47 years for me. Thought I might try something smaller.

New studies have found that people who try to manifest wealth through positive visualisation are significantly more likely to declare bankruptcy.

If we now get Brayden Preuss on a five-year deal I'm blaming you.

If we're helping out Gold Coast with their salary cap problems, I'd be much keener on Lukosius (obviously) and also, pretty sure that is Max King in the opening picture.

Come on Andy stop teasing us. Who was the once in 47 years ?

Please don't say Diamond Jim, Fabulous Phil, Brownlow Temps.

Get your point totally. But Wade retired in '75 and Krakouers started in '82.

Why let facts get in the way of a good story ITA?

Unfortunately still a good and accurate story even with the correct facts. Nothing wrong with the accurate story of Cable, Greig, Schimmelbusch & Alves delivering the ball to Wade. Not to mention the Galloping Gasometer.

I'm hearing a rumour from a reliable source (Nudge), that Harmes, T. Mac, BBB and our future 4th will get the deal done. As a sweetener, we'll also offer them Dunstan.

Surely we'd be asking them to pay 30% or more of his salary as well

I call BS! Dunstan has already retired.😂

Doesn’t matter.. another poster said we would’ve won the flag this year if we offered a retired (and broken) Josh Kennedy a one-year contract. With such a compelling case, I can’t see any issues with offering a broken and retired player a contract.

I don't see how either of the King boys solves our goal kicking inaccuracy problem.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front. They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
