This is absolutely disgusting

Angus is the villain

F off

He has the audacity to ask in that story ‘why journalists aren’t held to account’ for reporting what happened at Gus’ house the next day.

He’s a dumb as the come. It’s the journalists that got you off you thick piece of [censored]. You should be sending them flowers.

Of the 20-odd C'wood players about whom they might choose to write a puff piece this week, they choose a thug. Says it all.

It’s the ensuing controversy they want. Sells papers and gets clicks by both sides.

Any publicity is good publicity. It is shameful and really gutter trash reporting, but do we really expect anything more from them?

The more obvious the injustice the more excessive and repetitive the lie must be reaffirmed.

The MFC needs to train our players to do the jumping smother charge over the off season.

It a football action, so you know when Maynard is lying motionless on the ground during our next match against them, it will be completely within the rules and spirit of the game.

FFS this a hole makes me sick.

If he had half a brain he should have shut the hell up to any reporters about that incident.  He knows he shouldn't be playing in that GF.

The footy jurnos have got the boots into the MFC about our finals exits.  Few of the want to put forward the side the with Brayshaw and JVR in the team, we probably win both those games and thus the rank injustice of allowing Maynard to play, while JVR was suspended.

And then to have Pendles say he’d have his wife protected by Bruzz and leave his kids with him because he’s such a good boy - Jesus wept 🙄

To think that some Maynards are involved with our team, what would our players and staff be thinking about the Maynards?

Btw 'Bruzzy' is as ugly a nickname as they come.

It’s a real awkward situation for them, however they clearly have no influence because anyone with a brain cell could have told B. Maynard to keep his mouth shut and concentrate on his footy.

It is bordering on making their position untenable in our club through no fault of their own.

My ire was raised after the siren of the GWS prelim - Maytard walked around celebrating the win by adopting an uberaggressive body builder closed fisted pose complete with a full baring of the teeth when he crossed paths with some of his mates (ie  Cameron) in what appeared to be a well rehearsed gesture. The guy is a moron who seems to have no insight into the legacy he is creating and that the game has moved on ......Do hope the Fitzroy fwds kick an absolute swag on him.

HUN = Unofficial Pies PR agent / mouth piece (for decades).

Even when they've gone poorly the HUN still finds a way to get them on the front or back page with the most trivial story or even a non-story.

You know what you're going to get every time.  Only good for wrapping fish n chips etc.

But didn’t you say your main concern was Angus’s welfare, Bruzzy? Now you’re saying you just kept thinking what if I miss three matches. *So, which one is it? Coz you can’t genuinely have two such conflicting and contrary feelings at the same time.

*rhetorical question. We all know the answer.

Are there any Shaun Micallefs out there who could do a 'Please explain, Chris Lorax' on Jay Clark? Some social media platform or other?

I am not a violent man, nor do I condone any violence. However, I do wish Maynard becomes a victim of a 'Footy Act' and the E Coli Wobblers lose by a point because of a crook goal umpire call.

Look at is this way as I am.

What's worse than missing a GF.?

Playing in a losing GF.

Maynard will get his karma on Saturday.

This right here is everything that is wrong with the AFL and our society.

Victim blaming and celebrating of thuggery.

No wonder that 2 in every 5 Australians have experienced domestic or sexual assault in their lifetime, when the biggest sport in this country constantly perpetuates this type of aggressive behaviour as peak masculinity.

He can run really fast and catch and kick a ball a long way.

Apart from that he's a sniper who hits players exposed with not much going on upstairs I suspect.

Hopefully Maynard and Zorko knock each other out this weekend. Seeing Maynard in particular with a premiership medal around his neck would basically turn me off following the game I’ve followed religiously for decades.

I am going to the game on Saturday and taking a sign which reads “I’m Just Here To Boo Bruz”.

If you don’t hear from me again, it’s genuinely been nice knowing all (most) of you.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
