Trust the club, but personally want Melksham to come back from his ACL, couldn't see McAdam being a 3year proposition, and he would have to buy into the defensive aspect of the role. Like others if he didn't get on with Burgess I'm wondering?

Had no idea who he was.

If the list managers/ recruiters want him who am I to argue at this point? They've already been largely responsible for the great ride we've had over the past few years with more to come. I'll back them and their judgement

Do we really need more competition for half forwards, or more 28 year olds on the list? I can't see how this possibly improves the mix of our list.

Yep better than Charlie Spargo!

Agree. Dangerous as a goalkicking small-medium forward.  Good mark.  Loves a goal.  It’s a Yes if the right terms and trade deal works.

AND clearly has been in meetings with us

THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!😇🤩😁

Melksham replacement who can do a bit more than him. His smarts are good, not as good as Jake but who is.

Also might mean Spargo finds it even more difficult to get a spot in the 22.

Other players wanting to come to the Dees is something I’ll never get tired of. For about 5 million years nobody looking for success would even look at us.

 Now look at us!!

We’re a DEESTINATION club!

(I’ll show myself out)

I always find the perspective of fans from the player the club is from the most interesting, so for anyone wanting a quick read...

Agree, and very helpful/interesting!

Love this…! Will make our forward line so much more dangerous and unpredictable. He has everything. Footy smarts. He can fly, crumb, pressure and tackle. And capable of 50+ goal season…

Our current crop of small forwards haven’t been the greatest of pressure and tackling. McAdam definitely an improvement in this area and will bring the heat at training…!

He does remind me of a Jeff Farmer and Peter Vardy combination.

His younger brother Dallas is one of the most talented players I have seen, unfortunately just can’t adjust to the commitment required to play WAFL Colts and have AFL clubs chasing him

Don't you mean "YEP BETTER THAN CHARLIE SPARGO"? Just for clarity...

Reading that Big Footy thread, they’re saying that Rucci clarified that it’s a Melbourne based club, as opposed to the MFC.

Love to hear some thoughts on what he will bring us. Who's spot does he take?

Melksham’s. Competes so well in air, recovers at ground level, exactly what we need in 3rd fwd option — massive get for club!

Sounds like trouble, rising 29yo knows more than fitness professionals,  a no from me.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
