HTF can the Dogs be solid favourites to beat the Cats in Geelong after last weeks loss to the Eagles?

Mind boggles.

Will Collingwood play Jeremy Howe forward in finals ?

Hopefully. Makes their already leaky defense worse.

I care in a roundabout way. With all the blues inclusions I'm hoping Marchbank is an emergency or sub.

Marchbank(presumably  - on my phone1 radio) giggled in the dressing rooms when asked if he got a fingertip to the ball. Cheats.  Cant wait for that steaming [censored] to line up against us in Sept or even next year. Players have long memories. Brown on Footy Classified said that AFL players dont lie. What planet did he come down from?  Carlton dont lie?????  OH  FFS.

Marchbank Cripps and the most Free loving player in the side all rested. That will make GWS extremely unhappy.

Have you seen their(Geelong) outs?  Comical. AFL should investigate the sudden dramatic rise in injured AFL players in r24. Cats will still try and win it. Would they have done it against us???

I'll say it again. If Suns put in a shocker down in Tassie what the hell is Norff's reaction. Do they actually try and win first game since r2 and lose Reid. What a farce.

Have you seen who isn’t playing for Geelong?

Dogs will respond strongly after last week.

Caller on SEN reckons the Pies will drop tonight's game to avoid us in Week 1 of finals.

Pies have lost 3 and won 2 in the last 5. The 2 wins were Port by 2 and a pretty [censored] Geelong by 8. They’re not in a form line where you’d drop a game to get Port instead of the dees. That would be the first act of a straight sets exit

luckily i put the house on the dogs at $2.60. teams came out and all Cats are having their nails done and can’t play

into $1.60 now

Cats could still win but

Pies said no Daicos for week one of finals

We absolutely need to finish 4th if the Pies win tonight.

yep.

Unless Henry and Dempsey? can kick a few they are rooted. Tall Dogs will have a field day at that [censored] hole

But somehow do this without losing. Will a draw do?

We can win and still finish 4th. If Pies, Lions and Port all win, which is highly likely, we still finish 4th.  The ladder remains as is just with one extra win for each of the top 4 sides.

If all goes to plan, the top 4 will all win and we play the pies week 1 at the G.  Makes tonights game really interesting.  I can't see pies not putting in 100% as they will be trying to get some of the "premiership" form back :).

Jon Ralph when talking about a Daicos return hinted Coll’s Qualifying Final will be on the Thursday night.

I hate Thursday night football

To Collingwood: Stand up and be counted, don't let people call you Collywobbles, ok?

Am I the only person watching tonight for pretty much the sole reason of hoping Essendon finishes their season with more humiliation?

Maybe some unhinged rough tantrum football from Essendon late in the game to give Collingwood a few suspensions for finals would be good, too.

I reckon the younger Cats will win easily.
The Dogs players have checked out - they might be thinking ‘why try when we know that it’ll be a short finals for us anyway?’

I’m putting money on them if they drift further.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
