Petracca is having a bog of a game and not the good kind.

Worst game since he had the flu game last year.

Noticed that. Must have raided our refreshment room.

Is Salem currently loading.ย

Odds are his second half will be better seems to be a patternย

I wouldnโ€™t trouble the word โ€œseriouslyโ€ in this instance.ย

But I am more and more of the opinion that a lot of Kozzieโ€™s issues stem from not being coached well enough.ย

Bring Turner in for him least he likes contact.

But the modern league is very competitive these days, and even teams who are low on the ladder find pockets of excellent form. I donโ€™t see it as โ€œDemons are being showed-up by dudsโ€

I agree with you completely. The comp is probably the most even it has ever been.ย

BUT they lost their best mid just before the game, we are nearly full strength. A top 4, recent premier, hopeful premier again. The only reason this is an arm wrestle is because we have been very poor, not because they have set the world on fire. If they had, Iโ€™d agree that we are just battling with a team on fire and nothing to lose.ย

We likely win this, and should, and tbf will need to as Iโ€™m not confident about beating the swans over there in the last. So itโ€™s super important we come out in the second half significantly less bad. Hopefully good!ย

But youโ€™re right. The hawks ainโ€™t bad at all theyโ€™re building a good team. I just remember many, many losses to them, and would very much like that not to continue for another 5 years at least haha

This has just been sloppy by us.

Mids getting crushed except for Jvr.

Poor skills and some very poor decisions.

ย

God i hate this Hawthorn dirt bag of a team....hope we beat em by 1 point.

Oskar Baker and Hugh Greenwood story made the throat lumpy..

Do we even use footballs at training? Seriously need to fix our skill level this 2nd halfย

Really think that goes for the forward line....

Hawks cutting our zone up with deft short kicks and good delivery I50. They've been doing that to us for years

We are guarding grass and their chip kicks are making us defend. But it's hard chasing tail all day.ย

ย

Need to go man on man for a while,ย  control the footy,ย  make them run AND KICK STRAIGHT FFS

Spot on but it's not a good pattern .

Laurie has contributed way more than Kossie but guess who will get dropped first.

Just observing our lack of pressure when the Hawks have the ball. The umps call play on & our players don't move.ย

Then some of our players haven't bothered to man up and are just walking along the groundย

Hope it wafts into the Hawks dressing rooms.ย

We would have been better with Grundy instead of Gawn today so far. Reeves is cleaning him up.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFLโ€™s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.ย

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

Iโ€™ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we wonโ€™t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything youโ€™d like to ask or say below and weโ€™ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics youโ€™d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
