Gah how can you not know there are seconds left!!?

3/4 time Goody

please show us we have a COACH who can change momentum 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Love McVee tonight but how do players not know how much time is left.

Jesus Mcvee what were you thinking

If he hadn't played on, then scored, we would be in this.

Not sure how Petty played if we’re trying to avoid the balls up of 2022 - subbed off hurt last week, picked again, subbed off again with what looks like the same problem.. mental stuff

The mishandling of Petty both positionally and through injury has summed up the year.

I had a hunch he'd be all in tonight.
I've backed him in to beat VC Bonts 130 as Cpt in Supercoach.

Good call. On track for double ton.

Four Umps out there and not one is watching for what for exactly what we added an Ump for.

This is going to be a huge margin to recover in this final quarter.
But when you look at the game, we have been dominant, but sloppy.

Looking like another, wasted game on our way to trying to win multiple premierships.

We just lack composure generally. Brisbane have look so composed most of the game.

We're in this. We need 25 mins of our first 10 mins.

Mmmmm. Dunno

Come on you are not serious,  do you think he was looking at the bench for the time?

If we don't win this.

We won't get 4th and in turn we waste a 5th year without a flag.

But we won one in 70 so let's trust goody.

We are looking more and more like an easy kill against good opposition.

Goodwin refuses to change our system or doesnt know how to. Either way, he has got to go. Our list simply cannot go from being so good to so bad this quickly.

2021 all players bought in, now they are not as committed. The coach has lost the players, or cannot get them motivated. His time has come and gone.

2020 Goodwin promised us finals, couldn't deliver.

2023 Again promising to take us deep into finals and avoid the mistakes of 2022, it's not looking great so far

They are umpiring as coached.

Im not sure we’ve been dominant. Since halfway through the first quarter the game has been played in Brisbane’s forward half.

Us under Goodwin for 7 years.

Our midfield has been very average. Even Viney.

Lever hasn't touched it.

Langdon the same.

Our fwd line ....see midfield.

Unless Goody mixes things up will see more pain.

Kinda surprised how easily the Lions can break down our game plan and hurt us with their kicking game.

Not just that but how they can dominate in the air.

We can still win this.

No we cant

We look scarred, they totally have our number now. The one thing I'm hanging onto is there are goals in this game, hopefully they can be from us.

They are told to be perfect with footy, sometimes you just need to kick it! Handball when there is 4 seconds left 🤦🏻‍♂️

Is the Heartbreaker required to do a fitness test each week? I can't remember him being actually fit.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
