Reckon the Bombers new game plan is much more attractive than ours!

How’s that attractive game plan looking now? 😂

“time isn’t yet a problem for the bombers”

bombers just need 5 goals to nil in 10 minutes. lol

We dont want Essendon anywhere near the top 4 ...ever.

Agree, why would we cheer for them.

Still better than our shot for goal conversion.

Presumably a throw away comment - but FYI - here’s a neat little graph

Oscar Allen, Reuben Ginbey, Elijah Hewitt off the top of my head.

Makes me reflect on the infamous 186 game. Even Jones and Frawley were only 24, and we had a stack of kids playing against Geelong at their epic best. Brad Green was our only player with 150+ games experience.

West Coast went out there with Shuey, Sheed, Yeo, Gaff and Darling over 150 and then Kelly (who will be 29 by the end of this season), Duggan, Barass, Hunt, and Petresvski-Seton in the 100-150 game range. Even the relatively younger Petrucelle, Allen and Witherden are all 24.

The real fear for West Coast is that those thirteen established players were their 'best' (to insult the term, but you know what I mean) on the day. The players 23 and under gave close to nothing - which is understandable from young players in the dire circumstances today, but also terrifying for the future of the club.

As far as list cycle and profile goes, West Coast are where Melbourne was in 2007, but... worse. Significantly worse.

If I see one more Melbourne supporter crying a river for West Coast I'm going to puke.

It's really no wonder we're perceived as such a weak club when a team whose supporters have ripped on us for decades is suddenly being cuddled and nurtured by our own supporters.

It's their once-in-every-three-decades slump at the bottom. They'll survive.

[censored] West Coast.

No problems.

We're top 3 for goal accuracy in the league at 50.5% , league average is 48%

Further we are top 4 for shots a game - averaging 27, with Port 30.1, Adelaide and Brisbane on 28.8 and 28.1 respectively. League average 25.4 a game.

Can you narrow that down to the last 4 weeks?

2 meter's had a mare tonight

I love how the ump called advantage earlier but then when it didnt become advantage he quickly changed his mind.

Unlike Chandler's ridiculous advantage call which should also have been called back

Only reason Chandler kept going was because the whistle was late

Sure thing...

8.15

8.18

8.13

10.12

34.58 or  41.46%  - 6.5% behind league average.

Last 4 rounds across the league up until this morning- 846 goals and 846 points. 50% accuracy.

So on the form of the last 4 matches - we are 9.5 goals per 100 shots short. That's effectively 2.5 goals a game (as we have around 27.5 on target shots a game).

"It's a disgrace and Stafford should be sacked!" 😆

Quite honestly the demise of West Coast is a joy. Hunt aside, who I do really feel for, that entire arrogant organization should suffer.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
