We could have played JJ for a whole game and let Sparrow push forward more. He’s a far better and more reliable goal scorer these days than Harmes.
I think ultimately we wanted to replace the experienced mature body of Clarry with another experienced mature big bodied player. If Dunstan was fit I reckon we would have played him ahead of Harmes.

and Harmes only got one clearance. Gus was the only one who helped Trac with clearances

I told you already, he will not miss even a second of football. The best lawyers in town are suiting up to ensure that not only does he get off, the AFL pays Carlton damages for emotional distress caused.

Can someone get the number for those Wigs !!  Fwd to MFC  😉

I wish Jackson had stayed, kids going to be epic.

And FFS, play Schache, he's the best of a poor lot. What does the kid have to do to get a game?

I can see it now.

Tribunal sums up after allowing the appeal, that no reasonable person or footballer, could have foreseen, that a smaller player, dragging a bigger player to the ground, would cause the bigger player to hit his head on the ground twice and that after all, he really didn't mean to do it and he is sorry.

I think we need some more size forward and back without sacrificing too much mobility.

Joel Smith needs to come in forward to provide some further aerial contest and we won't lose any defensive capability.  Chandler or Spargo out, probably Chandler.  I watched TMac closely and he provided a good contest in the air and pressured well on the ground.  Sure he can't win a ground ball but BBB isn't going to either.  It's a pity they have both boiled over this year, one or two more years would have been handy, but it is what it is and TMac is the best bet at present with Van Rooyen.

We also need more height in defence so we can free Lever to intercept.  We've got McKay-Curnow, Cox-Mihocek(-McStay?), Hawkins-Cameron-Henry in the next 3 matches.  Quire frankly if there were two Joel Smiths I'd bring him into the backline as well.  The alternatives we have are Tomlinson, Daniel Turner or TMac back and BBB into the forward line.  Tomlinson is not going to help with ground ball mobility in the backline, but it's a big ask for Disco to go with the array of forwards coming up.  Nevertheless, looking to the future I'd go with him even though it will be a baptism of fire, we've got to pull that trigger sooner rather than later.  McVee or Bowey comes out - I'd prefer to retain McVee of the two for size and grunt.  That's unless Hibberd needs a week off for his Achilles, but for Disco's sake it would be handy to have Hibbo in the team to add support. I'd add that Salem has hit the ground running in his return and has been great in the contest, with him there we rely less on Bowey's kicking.

Hunter will come back in - he and Langdon don't help us in the size department and that's partly why I think we need bolsters at either end.  Harmes is the logical out, but it could just as easily be Gus - one of them will have to play midfield minutes.  Gus has sacrificed his midfield game for team balance and flexibility, but now is the time to use him there with Oliver out.  Harmes becomes sub - more erratic, but more dynamic than JJ.

B: Hibberd May Lever

Cerra ain’t a chance of getting off that, arms pinned and slung into the ground hitting his head.
Even their lawyers will have problems carrying suitcases with that amount of cash into AFL HQ.

Just wait and see…. No joke he is getting off.

I thought May defended pretty well and worked back into some form  (not implying you think otherwise)

So did I. In fact, I was surprised to read that he only had 8 disposals.

Bowey was very good I thought. 18 possessions with a high efficiency. No way should he be dropped

You have my vote. Still the best vision in the team

Thank God we are back to playing a team called Carlton. I didn't  know  who we have been talking about the last two weeks. And that terrible Blues jumper.

Salem has returned and took the kick ins. Mays numbers have been inflated from taking the kick ins.

Today's injury update was less forthcoming than Dan Andrews at the Hotel Quarantine Inquiry... 🤷‍♂️

Quasimodo would have been More forthcoming at said enquiry rather than our ‘Emperor’.

Actually, they could be out of the same litter.

I’d have Milkshake before TMac.

If he's reasonably mobile id have TMac in defence... he has experience and understands the game... much better than some other choices...   he can kick to a penny..   not so some others.

I like Milkshake ..on certain days conditions/games.

We have to box clever.

Horses for courses..

Stop bombing.. lower eyes... a little tempo.

Ffs it's not that fricken hard  ..   outer suburban league coaches know this..

My feeling is he might pull a Hardwick and sign off before he gets the tap on the shoulder. Recon he looks lost again, like he did in 2020. Horrible job I’d imagine

Looks lost when we're in the top 4? This might be the worst post of the year. Congratulations.

Had the chance to watch the VFL replay from the weekend.

Imo Ben Brown moved as well as I have seen him since 2021. He actually didn't look as stagnant as he has for the past 12 months.

Whilst he only kicked the 1 goal, he roamed bit further up the ground and moved well.

I'd chuck him in for either Tmac or JVR if they feel he needs a rest.

Reckon he'll play against Collingwood.

What was the point of getting Schache we could have just kept Weiderman, we invest in another premier ruckman & yet win the hit outs but don’t dominate the clearances… is it structure or players not working hard enough
