How is this not regarded in the same way? Serious question. K

edit: me and Demonland: great minds etc… 😁

Nothing in it but the MRP is a circus so he'll get 2 weeks

Some are saying he didn’t have eyes on the ball as justification for suspension. Well he did but shifted focus at last second on where ball was going as it was coming down steeply. Looks like he clipped Ballard head with the tip of his shoulder or missed on the spoil follow through. Purely accidental buts that’s 2-3 weeks for an MFC player

It’s a [censored] football action. It was in play and his intention was to spoil. For goodness sake why was Ballard even allowed back on when he already copped a head knock earlier?
Absolute joke if he gets suspended. Which means he will undoubtedly get 3 weeks

If he wore a Geelong jumper it would be play on 😡

It was nothing and he didn’t have concussion so I would be shocked if he gets any suspension. The blame should be placed on suns’ medical staff for sending a player back on the field who had already been banged up earlier and shouldn’t have been playing.

C'mon mate, you really suggesting that this actually should be looked at? Look at it from a vision point of view and not just a picture. This high tackles happen 10 times every single game. If Chol got weeks for this then shut the whole joint up for good because the game would be cooked.

Just remember one got stretched off on a stretcher and one got caught a high tackle and played out the game with absolutely zero issues.

certainly a week or two. hopefully just one. go for a spoil, miss and knock a bloke out, in front on contact and you’re done.

not saying i agree, just guessing what will happen

Didn't he pass a concussion test?

Trial by media. The next TV contract will include a Judge Judy style tribunal to be followed by Lyon, Browne and Buckley discussing the fall out on On the Bench.

Underside of his upper arm connects,  as his fist is trying to connect with ball.

Jonathan Brown has said a suspension would be the worst tribunal decision ever. Pretty strong.

The notion of taking your eyes off the ball is a joke. He was 10m away when he looked to see where the player was. He then tried to connect with the footy. If taking your eye off the ball is the trigger for suspension- how far back can you go? 20m? 50m?

Yep.

Think he has a right time to actually glance first to see who was ahead of him..

Pretty simple, MFC player, automatic 4 weeks down to 3 with early plea.

Apparently the ABC's Coronation coverage was suggesting Bowie would go for 6 weeks for headbutting... but other than that, didn't hear about it... 🤷‍♂️

Agree wholeheartedly.

Sometimes all you have is the opposition player positioning to gauge your spoil attempt when the ball is coming over the back.

Did he make him earn it? Of course. It’s part of the friggin game ffs.

Jono Brown the voice of reason here. Jay Clark can go [censored] himself.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
