The slipperiness was due to the state of the ground after a heavy downpour on the night before the game. And yes it was humid during the course of the game.

Walk to and from the ground was superb. Must have missed the previous days rain.

Just win it demons. Tussle between May and King may be interesting.

I watched the last 3/4 of the tigers / suns game last week. The Suns were ordinary and the Tigers even worse. will be disappointed if this is a close game.

If our attitude is right we'll win this game handily.

Dees by 30 points

Just like every week, want us to back our system and play for each other and the win will come.

AFL article on Noah Anderson.  He’s the one to stop.

The 22-year-old is averaging 27 disposals a game, 12 of them contested, along with seven clearances to be ranked top-10 in the AFL in that category.

Statistics provided by Champion Data show that when Anderson attends the centre bounce, the Suns win the clearance 52.3 per cent of the time – ranked second in the League behind Sydney's Luke Parker.

He's also forced 29 turnovers from his pressure this season – top 10 in the competition.

Agree the Tigers were terrible and Suns were ordinary but kicked straight!

I couldn’t help but think what happened to the Tigers from Anzac eve, very poor from Tigers. Even if they kicked slightly straighter would have been in the game.

Demons bring close to our usual standard and should win by 5 goals.

That Melbourne acknowledged last years game away as toughest interstate game of the year is great, as there will be no taking a win for granted!

Go Demons!!

Just bumped into the Swans boys in Sydney airport... I didn't quite comprehend the all red outfit as I weaved around them in the foot traffic until I cut one off to get to my gate 😂

Anyway, Heritage Bank stadium here I come!

He was going to be ours until they gave Gold Coast extra picks

We could, we should, we will?  I expect GCS to make a nuisance of themselves for a long way, but our classy forwards (Kozzie, Chin & Fritta) and midfield depth, should prevail in the end.  If it goes ‘down to the wire’ (which won’t altogether surprise me), l hope some of Clarrie’s ‘never say die’ attitude is contagious!
I’m a bit uneasy about this one, but Dees by 30.

……… or Hibbo?

I’m not as optimistic as others on here. We’re short in defence and Dew has gone very tall which is a worry. If we beat them at the source we’ll be ok, but I worry that if they get on top with clearance it’s going to be a challenge for our defence.

They haven’t beaten us since 2014. I hope that run continues but it’s going to end one day…

Possibly the sub for Harmes?

It's a strange season. Blues thumped Eagles by over 100 points away. I know eagles are depleted but it's a big margin. They looked ordinary at home last night and were soundly beaten.

I think despite a few teams the comp is fairly tight. We are better than Gcs but we will be switched on from the get go?

Our forward line worries me with our lack of contested marking but hopefully Max can help out. These are must win games.

Dogs did the same in Round 1. We handled their bigs well and we didn’t have May back then.

We cannot afford to drop this. We must win and again I look forward to seeing if Van Rooyen can play 4 quarters and snag a few.

The midfield will be a good battle.

Go dees

Rowell has lifted, in trying to make up for Miller being out, but Miller is a huge out for them, as is the in form Weller, who has become their run and carry player.

They are playing well and this is no gimme game.

We usually are troubled by their small forwards too - Rankine (who is at the Crows now) and Sexton (who has been playing sub). Combined with Miller out we really should account for them but wouldn't be surprised if they push us to the last quarter. Anything above a 4 goal win will be a great result.

Let’s remember this mob managed to lose to freo. They’re not very good.

What a soulless stadium this is. A big bunch of meh. It makes Marvel feel like Disneyland.

Let hope it's not the scary ride tonight.

Wouldn't we normally have a Sub (Harmes) and an extra Emergency held over in case of a pre-game mishap?

And beat last years premiers.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
