Is Davey going to be in trouble?

IWAP

i think after all the uproar this week davey will go, i was talking about it to mate and said tghey will try and wrest control and i think davey will cop it

whats his record like?

Davey is in trouble I think. It was late and clumsy, and the tribunal need to make a stand, watch Davey pay for it. Pickett also, I think he'll go. In my opinion they should both be let off if Goodes and Burgoyne were, but the tribunal are a bunch of f'ing [censored] so they'll probably do the reverse to last week.

davey wont go. umpire was standing there and didnt think it was worth a report. that should be enough evidence as you need. it wasnt malicious. he didnt hit him hard either...

Davey's hit was LOW CONTACT and LOW IMPACT. The player who was hit hardly felt a thing.

It will be sighted as charging due to his feet leaving the ground. He will be let off, there was nothing in it. 80 demerit points is what he will walk away with.

Davey in trouble.... good get nothin or max 3 weeks.....

Picket is not .... how can he be in trouble...... for a start the umpire didnt even call a free kick for in the back so wat case does the tribunal have if the umpire deemed it legal. it was in play... so the umpire had ful view as well....

Sylvia is gone..... wont surprise me if he gets a reprimand..... melb wont contest of course.... and a year or 2 from now .... the residual points will come back to haunt him and hte MFC....

same scenario....

MELB NEVER CONTEST why!? everyone else gets off!

MOLONEY is a prime example..... of MFC gettin screwed at the tribunal..... i remember an inncident 2 -3 years ago.... he got 2 weeks for the weakest punch to the stomach and it was in a contest!

MFC dont contest... ..... got him 3 weeks or watever for givin bartel a hair cut ( not sure if the contested this one) but for memory they didnt.

now his record is GONE

Now with regards to Pickett it was said by the TV commentators, who seemed to think he had committed a capital offense, that he would be in trouble because of the fact he pinned both of the Port players arms, and therefore there was a duty of care because Cornes could not protect his head.

But I was wondering if that kind of tackle had actually been declared illegal in any sense by the AFL (the TV folk mentioned that it was brought up pre-season with the clubs saying that this particular type of tackle was dangerous), or if it will just be looked at as rough play or something similar?

I mean can a player actually be cited for a "dangerous tackle" in the AFL?

Sylvia will either get offered 1 week or reprimand. Can't defend that one. It was just plain reckless. Sylvia doesn't have an AFL record but copped 1 week in the VFL in 2004.

Davey will also get either 1 week or a reprimand. Can't defend that one either. The main concern was that he left the ground and therefore that constitutes a charge. The impact was low so that will help him. Copped a reprimand in 2005, so has a record unfortunetly. If offered 1 week, I'd take it.

Pickett is the one they really should contest, if the tribunal give him weeks. It was just a hard solid tackle. Its not Pickett's fault his one of the hardest players in the AFL. Unlike Headland, he didn't blantantly throw hay-makers towards the opposition.

However I reckon if Pickett was still playing for Port and he did that to one of our blokes, Demonland would probably go into melt-down.

Davey and Sylvia will be dicey I must say - surprised Davey was not reported as that was a clear charge - thing is in reality it did little damage coming from Davey. He may score low however.

Sylvia is the real danger one for us as he did go through with high contact. Certainly arguable it was in play but was a little reckless.

Will be amusing if either get even one week after watching Goodes last week.

Pickett will only be cited if Anderson intervenes another tribunal process and decides it needs to go up because the media have got hold of it.

In my opinion, will be cheesed off if any get one week after previous let offs.

if picket goes it will be close to the worst decision since maloney went for nearly bumping someone. he tackled him fairly. the arms were pinned to stop him handballing. that is how you get holding the ball. a tackle is part of the game. if you are both running and fall it is an accident.

you cannot be reported for an accident can you? it certainly wasnt intentional, reckless or negligent...

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
