Responding to Mr Leg's question in the closed thread ....

I would say a combo of his experience and as a key member of the defensive crew he would be able to add that experience & input/feedback during the half time break and possibly from the bench in game.

Obviously rather see him out there but a good chance Tomo stays in me thinks.

There's an 8:35 pm flight to Melbourne. I suspect it will have a few players on board unless they want to get up for 7am flight tomorrow

I really don't rate the Lions as I feel they are missing any genuine hardness.  They seem to be the very definition of faux tough guys.  When the pressure is on they go to water and lose their composure and discipline.  A good, preofessional showing by us and we win by 6 goals.  If we are ruthless, a 10-12 goal win is on the cards.

This.

When it's red hot, they s&*t themselves. When it's white hot, their guys are in the beer fridge behind the hotdog stand.

The mail from some (not I) early on was Fritter and Viney were the two ins. I think there has been more chance May is just in the named to mess a touch with Brisbane's heads. There is no chance we would risk him if not 100% particularly with the form Tomo showed round 1.

Guaranteed the Lions will smash into Gawn. It has been a constant tactic over the last y times we have met. Port do it as well.

Melksham has to be the sub, he is the perfect footballer for it. He comes on when everyone else is exhausted, and uses his wonderful kicking skills and goal sense.

Harmes to Rich.

Spargo, Chandler and Fritta to cause the Loins a massive headache.

By red time in the last they'll all have left so I can bring kids down the bottom 😂

The kids can come down to the fence at the end to see our boys come over to clap us. I’ll take care of them. 😘

Brisbane has changed a little from when its version of a big day out was heading into the Valley for lunch at the TC Beirne's Department store

Still regard the Brisbane (ex-Bank) Hilton the best Hilton in the world - although those memories go back to my military days up to 1988. From distant memories, didn't the Valley have the greatest pub steak in Oz? Just cannot remember its name these days. Not as good as the Steak Stable in Ballarat, of course, but close. Fourex was the best beer to drink in Brisbane when the humidity rose to 3 shirts-a-day levels. As for the footy team in this modern era - sadly not as prominent or attractive as the Good Ol' Bloods. Always fun to go to Albert Park footy ground. I think the Dees are going to take some of that inherited blood from the Lions, tonight. Viney will be a raging bull looking for targets and misfits. We are going to kill 'em.

Silly by the club.

If there is a hint of doubt that he might not get up then just simply rule him out.

No point doing further damage, especially with calves as they can become a recurring injury especially when you hit your 30's

I don’t get this at all. If there is any doubt why would you risk it. Seems they’re leaving it up to the player too. Of course May is going to want to play. I’ll be furious if he pings his calf.

Do you think a 6ft 3 130kg bearded beast will pass as a kid?

Reminds me of when they let Petracca make the call last year against Freo even though he was crook as dog in bed with the flu.

Was MIA the whole game when we could have played a fit and healthy player.

Troy Chaplin could not be less convincing that May will play.

We clearly won’t risk him. We are just toying with Brisbane. They have to plan around May.

You really think that the Lions coaching dept will be in a mad panic when they see Tomlinson run out instead of May?

Every coach will tell you that late changes have zero impact on the opposition's game plan.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
