I report what I hear and always have/will, and even then it’s a MINUTE amount, sooo much gets thrown up and tossed aside, some of the crazy stuff I don’t list ends up true ie Grundy mid last year. The more you Know peeps in the industry the more you realise how much is muted about, go watch the player agent docos — LOADS of stuff gets leaked and talked about. My rule is if it’s single source, unless directly club linked I don’t share — if it’s same topic multiple ppl then I share, but even that’s limited! Go ask any afl list manager how many players per year they talk to agents of or to other clubs about.. it’d be 30+ EVERY year 

Don’t even listen to downiedavey, he’s the biggest flop since Mason Cox

Part trade rumour/ part trade anxiety: I worry about Petty’s name coming up during the period.

Some murmurings of Adel throwing his name in the mix for McAdam trade (which we all scoffed at) but if you think about it, as a rare, flexible tall who is on the up, I’m pretty sure his market value would be much much higher than his current pay packet… 

Also you’d expect our plan is to groom him a forward to suit our needs… who’s to say that doesn’t suit him?

Not a rumor but just wanted to ask what are we going to down about replacing Grundy?

Can't really afford to bring in a trainee with Max getting on a bit.

Also it's much more preferable to also get an established big bodied fwd  or two with Tmac and Bbb futures  in doubt.

Fix those three problems successfully and I'm confident we will make top four again.

 

 

I hope we are up to something on a number of fronts:

coaching replacements and switches - forward and midfield coaches, new ball movement plans.

Some better ball users and elite talent (both new via draft and trading in).

Ruck replacement for Grundy, if he goes as planned.

KP players for FB, CHB, CHF.

No rumours here, but if what the jungle drums are signalling (by no signal), I hope we are going to make a big splash this trade/draft period.

I'm coming around to the idea of throwing a 2 year peanuts deal out to Levi Casboult. Can play ruck, back and forward, is great in the air and should have no issue spending time at Casey. Plus we wouldn't even need to play him in the ruck at Casey so as not to interfere with Farris-White and Verrell's development, however could walk straight into ruck in the seniors should Max get injured.

Not that many I would have thought. Given a key forward is where we’d try to splash, even fewer. Cameron, Oscar Allan or one of the King twins probably the only one’s Big Bang worthy. Naughton wouldn’t quite get to that level for me.

What’s a big move?

Trading for pick 1?
Trading for pick 4?

Targeting a key forward (feels like we’ve covered them all. But I’ll add a name if we’re just taking wild guesses , Riley Thilthorpe)?

How about trading for midfield class? 

Can we convince Tim Kelly and his partner to come give Victoria another go and play finals rather than rebuild at 29?

Can we convince Zach Merrett that Essendon aren’t going anywhere?

Richmond need picks to kickstart a rebuild, what if we offer the world for Shai Bolton?

    When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

    The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
    Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
